sometimes, i wonder if the world is ever silent
if there are no sounds to hear-
no telephones, no whir of the fan from the laptop, no talking
just silence
maybe there would be a slight breeze
the fresh smell of nature
no pollution, no smoke, no smog
pure air
when i was younger
i thought i could smell that in the
mountains
hear nothing except the eagle's wings whoosh by
that never happened
because i could always hear something
nothing like a cell phone ring, or voices
but the cry from Earth
how we could be so hostile after everything she did for us
how we are all hypocrites
if there are no sounds to hear-
no telephones, no whir of the fan from the laptop, no talking
just silence
maybe there would be a slight breeze
the fresh smell of nature
no pollution, no smoke, no smog
pure air
when i was younger
i thought i could smell that in the
mountains
hear nothing except the eagle's wings whoosh by
that never happened
because i could always hear something
nothing like a cell phone ring, or voices
but the cry from Earth
how we could be so hostile after everything she did for us
how we are all hypocrites
