Blog Term3 Day86

Gosh, I just "wasted" the whole morning reading. I was supposed to start on my homework, but since I went to the library yesterday, I got this really good book. And once I start reading an interesting book, I never stop. It's almost lunch time anyways. Right now, it's 11:59am, so I'm gonna help my mom get lunch ready. Mainly by setting the table. I think we are having noodles. Yum! I am actually a pretty fast reader because I just finished about half the book in 3 hours. But I could have spent those 3 hours more productively, so after lunch I am going to work really really hard to complete all my homework. I only have 1 major project to work on, but a lot of small bits of homework to complete, so that is going to take a pretty long time to complete. Plus, this week I have a major Chinese test, so I also have to start studying for that after lunch too.

My random thought/statement of the day: Cool, I smell bananas because the computer is right beside a lot of bananas! :)

What a day, I am so exhausted. From the moment I woke up at 7:30am, I had to work, work, work. The only time to relax was nighttime. Although I had a nice relaxing night, that means that tomorrow is going to be very busy. I don't actually have too much major homework due, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of little homework bits to do. Fortunately, each piece shouldn't take me too long to do. I am really tired right now, so I will probably go to sleep in about 10 minutes. I would have slept earlier, but I feel asleep on the couch and didn't wake up till just now. Opps, better get to sleep soon now!

My random thought/statement of the day: I like apple pie with ice cream!

Blog Term3 Day84

Today was one of the sunniest days in a long time! I am so serious. Sure, the other days were really nice, but today was just amazing! I had P.E today, and it was really nice. Although today was very good, I found it just a tad too hot and dry. And it would have been even better if there was a little wind going, but I really should stop complaining because it's like summer again! But I guess global warming is making this planet super hot too... It's really sad that humans have ruined the world so much there is global warming.

On another note, I am so nervous about the finals that are coming up! I think that out of the 8 subjects we take, we only have 4 finals exams. These are the subjects we are having finals on: Socials, English, Math and Science. And these are the ones there are no finals on: French, P.E, Fine Arts and Applied Skills. I am really glad we only have 4 exams because if there were 8, I think I would freak out. Exams are really stressful, no matter what kind, so even having just one exam less really helps!

My random thought/statement of the day: I am really slow at writing tests, so I hope an hour (the given time) is enough! I also don't know where the tests are taking place. I just know the time and date!

Guess what? I finally performed in the busker fest today! I sang with my friend, and at first we were both very nervous, but in the end, I was really relaxed. We both knew the song really well, and it sounded good, so were pretty confident. But that isn't the only thing. I think the most important fact was that everybody in the audience was very supportive and they all clapped and cheered us on while we were singing. I also donated some money. At first, I didn't think that I had any spare change, but after rummaging around, I managed to get $2.01. I know it's not a lot, but if everyone donated a little, it would amount to a lot. Yes, it was quite nerve wracking, but since everyone was supportive and nice, I had a lot of fun, and next year, I really want to sing again! This was actually the first time I sung with an audience besides in a choir. In elementary, I was in the school choir, so I sung lots then, but it has been a while since I sang for an audience and I am pleased to say I had an awesome time!

My random thought/statement of the day: I really enjoy singing!

Well, I was supposed to do the busker fest with my friend today, unfortunately, after we finished eating and getting ready, everyone was already cleaning out, so we are going to do it tomorrow. Everyone that performed has done a lovely job! And it is just amazing how musical people are. I am not too nervous about singing in front of people as long as a someone is singing with me, but if someone is taping the whole song, I get super nervous!

I am getting really nervous with the finals coming up too! And the worst part is, I also have 2 Chinese exams and one of them is this week and the other is the next. Although I have many exams coming up, they are all neatly organized. This week is the first Chinese exam, then next week is my second, more important one and finally the week after that one is the start of school finals.

My random thought/statement of the day: Gosh, it seems as if time passes by so fast! Finals start in 2 weeks!

The second day of the busker fest! My friend and I are going to perform a song together tomorrow and I am so nervous. We are going to sing Everything by Michael Buble. It's just really nerve racking because most people are playing a music instrument like the piano or violin, and we might be one of the first people to sing. Although I am slightly freaking out, I feel quite confident because during lunch period today, we practiced and I think we sounded considerably good. I know that I still need to practice a bit more because I haven't gotten the lyrics memorized, and there are parts where I know I need to work on my pitch because the original song is quite low, so I might need to transpose it up an octave.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love being in Middle Years, and I love all my teachers, classes and classmates.

This was the first of 4 days in the Busker Fest. During lunch time, we go and do a performance to raise money. I am going to perform on Wednesday with a friend, and we are going to sing. Today, a heard a lot of people play the piano, and everyone is so amazing! It seemed as if everyone was just so gifted in playing the piano! Although I also play the piano, I'm not going to because I like singing more, plus I love singing with a friend. Even though I am quite excited, I am mostly nervous... I really hope that I don't mess up because usually when I get nervous, I mess up. But everyone that played it was awesome today, and I think that they are all amazing musicians.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love knitting scarves, it is just so much fun and in the summer, my goal is to knit at least 10 scarves so that I can give it to the homeless in the winter.

Blog Term3 Day79

Today is such a lovely day! The sun is out and it's not too cold or not too hot. This whole weekend has been really great weather wise. Last night, I didn't even do any homework because I decided to relax, watch a movie and get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, I now have loads of homework to do. But at least I had time to recharge! I just love nice hot summer weather because all the yummy summer fruits bloom and ripen, and they are ready to be sold at the markets. My favourite summer fruits are strawberries, blueberries, watermelons, papayas, mangoes and nectarines. I know that papayas and mangoes aren't that summery but they are still my favourites. I really love fruits, and sometimes in the summer, my family and I go to a berry farm and pick blueberries. My mom's favourite fruit is the blueberry too, and berry picking is fun. Plus, with all the blueberries that we pick, we make smoothies, cakes, pancakes, breads and just eat them plain. I really love blueberries!

My random thought/statement of the day: Yum!

What another beautiful day! It is truly amazing how lovely the weather is this weekend. Ahhhhh, last night, I didn't even start doing my homework. Even though I have lots to do, I thought that I should take that day off and just relax, watch a movie and sleep early. I got a really good sleep last night, but I am still tired, so after blogging and finishing off my French homework, I will probably take a short 30 min nap, and then I can continue on with my homework. I also just ate a watermelon slice, and it was so refreshing! I really like watermelons and they are one my favourite fruits. I especially like watermelons when it's a hot day and they just came out of the fridge. I really really love freezing watermelons! ;) This weekend has been considerable relaxing, but the coming Saturday is my first Chinese exam, so I better get studying!

My random thought/statement of the day: My favourite fruits are strawberries, blueberries, papayas, mangoes, watermelons and white nectarines. Yummy! I actually love all sorts of fruits, but these are my favourite!

This is crazy, last night I slept at 3:00am because I had to study for my Chinese dictation and finish some of my homework. I know that I slept really late last night, but tonight, I have made it clear to myself that I will sleep at latest 10:30pm. I really need to catch up on my sleep because the last few days have been really hectic and filled with studying and finishing up homework. Not only that, but it seems as if I am burning out due to overload in work. Now I understand the pressure in final exams and the teachers having to squish everything into the last 2-3 weeks before the exam. I am super duper tired already so I think I will sleep even sooner than that time. But then that means that I will have loads of homework to do on Sunday. But then again, sleep and health is more important overall compared to homework. I'm not saying that homework is unimportant, because I am a homework freak, but being deprived of sleep is even worse than not completing homework.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love eating cream puffs, they are absolutely yummy!

The school carnival was amazing! The weather was really awesome and there wasn't a single cloud in view! Not only that, but I think the student council really outdid themselves. All the activities were really fun and interactive. There was a talent show, a dunk tank, one of those blown-up things you can just on, a trampoline with strings attached so that you can jump really high and a whole bunch of other things. It's also really fun going with your friends.

My random thought/statement of the day: Tonight is going to be very busy because I have loads of studying to do for Chinese and piano. Not only that, but there are many other things to complete.

YAY, I don't have as much homework as usual today! Even though the homework load is considerably light, I still have to practice a lot of piano and study for my Chinese dictations. Come to think of it, I don't think I have even done my Chinese homework yet. But that's okay because I can do it tonight. Last night, I already did most of my homework that is due tomorrow, unfortunately, I still have a little more to do which includes some science and socials. I am also really glad that I already did my oratorical. And the more I think about it, the more I like my topic. My topic was Generation Millennial. It is sort of different compared to most of the ones I have heard, but at the same time, the same. Hmmmmm cool right?

My random thought/statement of the day: I also can't wait until tomorrow because the Spring Carnival is here, and it sounds like a lot of fun!

YES! Finally today is over! I can't believe it, but today was terrible. Last night, I slept at 3:00am and had to wake up at 7:15am. So all through the day, I was going around half asleep. In socials, we had a test, and unfortunately, I know I bombed part of it. I think I did very well in the first part, but I didn't really know some of my heraldry information, so I lost about 10 points there (I think). After that test, it was English, and I did my oratorical then. I actually had of choice of doing it or not, because I wasn't at school on Friday, but I chose to do it because I rather get it over with. Plus, I don't think I can hang on any longer and I was pretty ready then. I know I could have done a better job because I didn't really have my speech memorized, and I didn't have enough hand motions, but other than that, I think I did a really really great job. I am glad I finished my speech today because even though it might have been better on the next class, I rather get if over with.

My random thought/statement of the day: Gosh, I am so tired! I think after doing this, I am going to sleep.

Tomorrow is going to be an extremely hectic day, I can just feel it! From the very first period to the last, there are going to be tests, assignments due and oral presentations. In socials, I have a test and an assignment. In English, I have to perform the oratorical. Then in science, I have another test. And finally in applied skills, we are starting a new project. At the moment, I am under a lot of stress, and I am not getting enough sleep. It's really bad, but at least I take some naps to keep myself awake, and naps also seem to help me lots too. I really hope that I do well in both my oratorical and all my tests. Although I have studied a lot for my tests, I know there are still many fine points I need to concentrate on.

Blog Term3 Day73

Oh great, tomorrow is back to school and I still haven't finished composing my oratorical. Although I have a topic, I'm just not feeling the creative juices flowing, and that causes me to do badly in composing pieces. I don't really know why, but it seems as if these days, my writing is not as good as it used to be. I used to be a whiz at writing, but it seems as if these days, I am just not that great. Well, whatever problem it is, I have to get over soon because I still need to finish composing this and then get going on the memorization part. Last night, I studied a lot for my socials and this morning was fully dedicated to finishing all my science worksheets and studying for the big test on Wed. But I know that I am still nowhere near ready for either test, so I really have to put myself on "work super duper hard" mode. This is really bad because I can feel myself burning out. And this weekend has been very bad. From the moment school ended on Friday, all I have been working on is homework and studying for all those tests. I haven't even had time to practice piano, and the exams are looming ahead. I still have to memorize all my technical requirements and songs. I am really far behind, and I feel the pressure mounting.

My random thought/statement of the day: I am seriously overloaded with homework, but I know it's not the teachers' fault.

I am so glad that we have Monday off too (yay Victoria Day!), because if I were to go to school on Monday, I think that I will probably break down crying. It is just so hard because I still have loads of homework to do. However, I have completed all of my day 1 homework that is due on Tuesday, so that really helps. But I still have to study for my 3 tests on Wednesday! :'( Even though it's really hard for the students, I know that the teachers are under a lot of stress too. There is probably a lot of pressure on the teachers because there is probably still a lot to teach with less than a month before the finals, so they have to squeeze everything in. It's also hard for the teachers because they have to mark all the assignments, tests and quizzes, not to mention all that teaching.

Oh great, I don't want to complain, but this weekend is really hectic. It seems as if the teachers are all piling on loads of homework each. There is a lot to do, and the biggest piece would be writing and memorizing for the oratorical. It's also a challenge because we only have 4 days to think of a topic, write about it, memorize part of it and have it ready for presenting on Wednesday. I would have liked a little more time to work on this, because this is actually pretty major. And the worst part is, I don't even have a topic yet! I have been thinking about it for a really long time, but I still don't have a good one. A humorous speech is very successful, but only unless it's good enough because if it isn't, there would be a very awkward feeling for both the presenter and the audience. The serious speech would be good too, but if I don't make it good enough, people tend to fall asleep and doze off which is equally bad.

My random thought/statement of the day: Hmmmmm, which kind of speech do you think I should do, serious or funny?

Helping out at sports day was super fun. I had lots of fun, even though I missed out on a lot of class, I think it was worth it. My best friend and I did the scooter race in the gym, so we didn't really feel much of the heat, but whenever I went out, it felt super hot, so I am quite glad that we got that station. The volunteers also got a free hot dog, a juice and a bag of popcorn. I ate the hot dog really quickly because I was just so hungry. It was actually kind of funny because I had put a lot of cheese on it, so the little cheese bits were flying everywhere. After helping out at sports day, it was about 12 noon, so I called my mom and I came back home for a while and then I went to the last class at school. Since we had the field trip form signed for the whole day off, I debated whether or not I should go back to school or not, but in the end I chose to go. In applied skills, we were starting a new project, so I am glad I was there for the instructions. We also got a lot of English homework. We have to compose 9 poems and compose and oratorical and then on Wednesday, present it. I feel like I have a lot of homework dumped on me all at once. In socials, we have a project going on and also a really big test on Wednesday. Then, in science, I have a couple worksheets and a chapter test on Wednesday too. Then there is that major oratorical and now we also have that 3-D model project. There are just so many tests and major projects, I am slowly burning out. I can feel it, and even though I have followed all the steps in the GO program to prevent that and practice self renewal, there is just too much to do and stop. I already sleep really late doing all this, I am just getting really really really busy and soon, I won't even have any time for fun.

My random thought/statement of the day: Apparently, one of the Middle Years traditions is having an awesome end-of-the-year outing. I really hope we go because I want to watch Angels and Demons plus we would also go to an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet! YES! That sounds like fun!

I had such a fun time at the Children's Festival today! Even though I wanted to stay for a longer time, we couldn't because the bus had to leave at a certain time. But the weird thing was, a lot of my friends from different classes were able to stay until 3:00pm. We were also supposed to leave at about 1:45pm so that we would reach the school at about 2:00pm. Unfortunately, 3 people were late, so we had to stand around waiting for them for about 20 minutes. But I don't think that it was those people's fault. There could have been other factors that contributed to this "lateness". When we went there, we went into this huge tent and the performance started. I'm glad there wasn't a super long wait because the seats were kinda hard. Even though practically the whole presentation was in French, I understood some parts (thanks to my French classes). I also really loved the band that played. I could tell that they were very happy with what they were doing and the looked relaxed and well-rehearsed. Even though the music wasn't really my style, I loved it and thought that it was very entertaining.

Tomorrow, I am helping out at my old elementary school's sports day. I am very excited and can't wait. Unfortunately, that means that I have to miss school. It's not that I only live for school and homework (trust me, I don't) but if I miss a day at school, that means a lot of catching up to do. Even though it's just one day, that means 4 periods worth of learning gone. And since the finals are looming ahead (and coming closer) teachers are frantic to finish teaching us everything we need to know for the finals, and trust me, the teachers aren't the only ones who are freaking out. I am so worried, because the finals are a re-cap of everything we learned throughout the whole year, and that is a lot of info! But I guess I should stop freaking out and be happy that I can go and help out. And anyways, I'm just in grade 8, and so I should have as much fun as I can while the homework load is not as heavy.

My random thought/statement of the day: I really like the name Middle Years, but unfortunately, we have to change that name to something else. It's so sad because I never really appreciated how nice the name Middle Years is until now that we have to change it. I just wish that we could keep the name Middle Years, but I know we can't so I hope that whatever name is chosen, it's a really good one. I just don't like change. I'm one of those people who don't like change and whatever change it is, it takes me a long time to adapt to it.

Today during Block G, I went to the auditorium to see this Spanish dance performance. At first, I wasn't fully aware that it was about dance, but after seeing it, I think that I was truly lucky to be able to have seen the dance show. Personally, I love watching dance. Just seeing all the different styles, costumes and tempo makes me thrilled and excited. So this dance seemed like a treat. My favourite dances were the Mexico originated-ones and the Cha Cha Cha one. I really liked the moves, the costumes and the flow was just amazing! I find it also interesting how the ladies can dance in high heels. It is truly amazing!

I can't wait for tomorrow! We have this field trip that starts at lunch and ends right before last block starts. We are going to the Children's Festival. I think that when I was young, I might have went there once. But I remember that it was really fun and I got a lot of temporary tattoos. But apparently we are only going there to watch one show and then we have to come back. I was sort of hoping that we could stay a little longer because the Children's Festival seems like a lot of fun and there seems to be a lot of activities to do.

Yes, I can finally read Snakehead by Anthony Horowtiz! I have wanted to read that book for about 2 years or so, and I am so glad that I can finally read it. I remember when I went to Hong Kong almost 2 years ago, I saw the book just come out, and I wanted to read it, but it was super expensive, so I didn't. Plus, books seem to come out faster in Hong Kong than Canada. But anyways, my brother helped me borrow it from the school library, so now I can finally read it. Speaking of reading, I have already finished all the books I need to read for the independent reading program. For our class, the curriculum is to read 5 books and the maximum of "easy" books would be 2. The other 3 either have to be a moderate or a challenging book. For this term, I read 2 easys', 2 moderates and a challenging. For my challenging book, I read the Other Boleyn Girl and it took me a month to read! Even though it took me a very long time, I still thought that it was worth it and I really enjoyed it.

My random thought/statement of the day: Today I got a mango bubble tea, and it was pretty good. I wanted to get the original one, and I probably could have gotten it, but people kept on budging in the line up, so I didn't get it. X( I hate it when people budge in the line up, it's so unfair!

The field trip we went on today was so much fun! At first, it was quite rainy and everyone was soaked so the trip wasn't that great. It was especially unpleasant when everyone was squished onto the bus with their soggy jackets and it became really stuffy and moist all at the same time. That was the only bad part and by the time we started to come back, the weather had cleared up and it looked nice and sunny. Although I didn't get through much knitting, I did learn more about the streets in Metro Vancouver and I think that really helped me. After going on 2 buses, we went to the Metrotown skytrain station and there, we took the skytrain to Brentwood Mall and after that, we all went on another skytrain and then a seabus to the Lonsdale Quay. At the Lonsdale Quay, I bought my lunch which was a savoury crepe with cheese, chicken, spinach, mushrooms and green onion. It tasted quite good, but next time, I think I will stick to something cheaper. I also got a couple gifts for my brother and parents. For my brother, I got a Canucks pin with their logo and Luongo's jersey, for my mom, I got a little card that thanked her for being an awesome mom and for my dad, I got him a bookmark. For the whole family, I got a cute little purple butterfly magnet that goes perfectly on the fridge.

Cool, it's Mothers' Day. I already have my mom the card I made in the morning, so there isn't much to do. Although I have decided to help out with the chores and what not. Sometimes, I realize how hard parents work to raise the family and these are one of those times. I think that is what Mothers' and Fathers' Days are for, to be thankful for our parents. Last night was movie night, so my family and I watched Marley and Me. It was such a good movie, and I think the actors are really good and the story line is simple and totally realistic. I love how the whole movie seems so ideal and real. A lot of shows have these actors that look like they are actors, but this movie seemed like a real life situation, and I think the director and story writer did a good job. The only part I didn't like was when Marley died in the end. I understand that Marley had to go, but it was just so sad. I think that for the last 15 minutes of the movie, I was close to tears. It was just so sad to see a cute little dog die just like that. I sort of felt as if I knew Marley ever since he was a little puppy, and the movie really takes the time to express that Marley may not be the ideal dog, but in the end, he proves to be very good dog who was always a part of the family.

It's so weird how the whole week was cloudy and rainy but today is just so beautiful. The sun is out, and it's the perfect temperature. Not too hot and not too cold. I hope that tomorrow is extremely nice too because it's Mother's day. Speaking of which, I still need to get my mom something. In elementary school, there would always be crafts to make for Mother's and Father's day, but none in high school, so I think I should get something. Since we are going to the Lonsdale Quay on Monday, I was hoping that maybe I could get something for my mom then, but that would be a day late which is kinda weird. I'm not exactly sure what I should get my mom. I know that I am going to make one of my hand-made cards, but I don't have an actual gift. So tonight, maybe I can go and get a present.

Now that Playland is over (and I had an awesome time) I can't wait to go to the Lonsdale Quay! Apparently, my parents took me there when I was really young, but clearly, I don't remember it, so I am going to say it's my "first time". To tell you the truth, I don't really know my streets and if someone told me to go to a certain street or location in Metro Vancouver, I wouldn't know where to go. Sure, I know how to get to places by memory, but not by street name. So I am really glad that I can go on this field trip by transit and I think that will really help me. I have already gotten my all day bus pass (concession!) so there is nothing else for me to prepare for. I really like knitting, so this trip is extra fun too. I have already planned out what I want to get at the Lonsdale Quay for lunch, and I'm probably gonna get crepes. I rarely have crepes, in fact, I might have only had it about 2 times in my whole life, so I am determined to try something new-ish. I have had sweet crepes with fruit, ice cream and whipped cream before, but never a savoury one so this is especially new. The website for the Lonsdale Quay seems really interesting, and I am getting more and more excited!

Blog Term3 Day62

I just came back from a friend's house after I went to Playland. Playland was super fun, and I had an awesome time on the rides. I think that this field trip was very good because we were able to go on all the rides that we usually go on for about $30 more than what we paid for today. The only sad part was we had to do a couple worksheets, but other than that, it was awesome. Although the weather was not perfect and sunny, I'm not upset about it. The whole day was cloudy and there were only short rotations of rain, but other than that, the rain held up quite nicely.

I didn't buy any lunch there because I know that all the food at Playland is super over-priced, so I just brought a Subway. It was really good, and I was especially hungry, so that made it all the yummier. However, I did get some mini donuts. I just love those mini donuts because they are so hot, soft and perfectly sweet. It costs $3.50 for 12 mini donuts which is pretty expensive, but not that bad compared to everything else there is. 12 donuts is actually quite a lot and it really fills you up.

I went on about 7 rides. Once the gates opened, my 3 group members and I ran to the Wooden Roller coaster. By the time we got there, there was already a line up, but compared to other people, we got there pretty soon. I think my favourite ride in the whole entire Playland would be the Wooden Roller coaster and Crazy Beach Party. I actually went on the Wooden Roller coaster, Crazy Beach Party, Swings (I don't really know the actual name for this ride), Hell's Gate, Corskrew, Hellevator and Pirate Ship. I wanted to go on more, but we only got about 4 hours to finish all the worksheets, eat our lunch and go on the rides, so I think I did pretty well. The line ups were also pretty good and there were not as many people as usual. But then again, this wasn't a normal Playland day. Usually, all the rides that I lined up for are extremely busy because they are the most popular, so I am pretty glad that I was able to go on all of these while the line ups were not as long. Last blog, I said that I really wanted to go on the Hellevator and the Corkscrew, and I am glad that I was able to go. But to tell you the truth, I am disappointed in both the Corkscrew and the Hellevator. They weren't as fun as I had perceived and now I know that the Wooden Roller coaster and Crazy Beach Party is a lot better than either of them. But at least I have gone on both of them and I feel a sense of completion.

My random thought/statement of the day: Ah! My throat hurts so much after going on all those rides because I always scream or laugh. Even though the rides are not that scary, I still scream anyways because it adds on the fun or I start to laugh. :)

Blog Term3 Day61

Tomorrow, I am going to Playland! I am so excited because I am going to go on a lot of rides. I have never been on the Hellevator or the Corkscrew, so those are the main rides I want to go on. My other favourite ride would be Crazy Beach Party and the Wooden Roller coaster is pretty cool too, but I still think Crazy Beach Party is the best. Crazy Beach Party is just like Pirate Ship except you get to spin a lot and that adds to the fun. Just thinking about all that fun is making me excited. Usually when I have a fun field trip like this, I have trouble sleeping. I really hope the weather holds up because I don't want it to be cold and rainy. That would just ruin the whole fun. I mean, who would want to go on the Hellevator when it is raining? Not me, because I wouldn't be able to see anything from the top which is one of the best parts. That is also why I love going on the Ferris Wheel, you can see all the tiny spots of people and scout out the short line up rides. It is so much fun and relaxing!

My random thought/statement of the day: Gosh, I am getting more and more excited!

Blog Term3 Day60

In 2 days, we are going to Playland. I am super excited, but the weather doesn't seem to be too great, so I am hoping for a nice sunny day. But that doesn't seem to be on the menu so I am now hoping for a no-rain day. I can deal with cold temperatures and clouds, but I don't think riding rides when it is raining will be too fun. Especially since we have a couple worksheets to do. I am scared that the worksheets are going to get all soggy, and our paper G meters are probably going to get soggy too. So that is why good weather is extremely important. I really like going on the rides, so I am looking forward to going on them with my friends.

My random thought/statement of the day: Today, we were a part of the audience for these awesome presentations (I forgot the name for them, but I remember it was like a tongue twister). The presentations were about charities or organizations that help the people that either have disabilities, or they have social problems. I was one of the judges, and I thought that they were all really nicely done. In the end, the 1 winner out of the 4 presentations gets $5000 to give to whichever organization they presented on. I think this idea is really good, and it helps everyone. In other words, it's a win-win activity.

Blog Term3 Day59

For P.E today, we started on a new unit- softball. I have never actually played softball, but it seems a lot like baseball. Since a lot of people have never played before (like me) after doing the warm-up run, we paired up and just practiced throwing and catching with the mitts on. The gloves feel really hard, so I found the flexibility to be very hard. (It's a good thing I chose an old glove because if I chose a new one, it would have been even harder to move my hand.) At first, my partner and I both were not too good (we both have never played before) but after a while, we got the hang of it, and we were catching most of them. I am also super grateful that we didn't use the actual ones because the official ones are super hard and could take out several teeth. Instead, we just used these soft-ish ones that were bright yellow and therefor, easy to see. I was hit several times by the soft-ish balls due to my inexperienced catching, and I noticed that it just stings a lot when it hits you. Imagine if I was hit by one of those white ones! Ouch! It was also super windy today, so sometimes I would throw the ball into the air only to find it being carried along with the wind. In the end, after we finished tossing and catching the ball, we played a game of California kickball.

My random thought/statement of the day: Yay, there are so many field trips to look forward to.

Blog Term3 Day58

Oh great, it's already 2:16pm. But that's okay, I don't have too much homework. Well, I have some but not as much as usual, so that is considered a little. Today is such a beautiful day and I am glad that it is sunny and nice looking because the weather forecast said that it is going to rain today and all of next week. I know that next week won't be too sunny, but it's good that right now it's not raining.

This morning, I signed up for my piano exam for this summer, so I really have to practice lots. It seems that every year, the piano exam fee gets higher and higher. It's crazy how much a piano exam costs. The examiners must be rolling in money, because practically everyone I know plays a musical instrument, and they usually take an exam.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love reading comic books.

Blog Term3 Day57

I can't wait until the awesome field trip to Playland next week. Even though we have to do worksheets that will be marked, we also get to have some fun and go on the rides. I have never been on the Hellevator or the Corkscrew, so my goal is to go on both of them. I have been on all the other major rides, but it's these 2 rides that always have super long line ups, so I usually just skip them and go to the other ones like the Wooden Roller coaster etc. I really like going on super crazy roller coasters like the Corkscrew. I'm not too crazy about the Hellevator because those rides make my stomach feel funny, but I have never been on that particular one, and all my friends say that it is awesome, so I am trusting that it will be totally cool!

On a seperate field trip, I am going to the Lonsdale Quay via transit, and it sounds really fun. We are going to be knitting on transit, so that sounds like fun and I went onto the Lonsdale Quay's website and it seems really interesting. I have already decided to buy my lunch there because the food court food seems really good. Plus, I really like knitting and maybe by the end of the trip, I would have knitting half the scarf.

My random thought/statement of the day: YES! I love going on field trips, and there are a couple field trips in May!

Blog Term3 Day56

I really dislike Fridays because the next day is Chinese school! Just thinking about Chinese school gives me a headache but it's mostly because I need more sleep. Last night, I was so excited about today's track and field meet that I didn't sleep much. But that's okay because I am planning on taking a 30 minute nap after blogging and then after that, I can practice piano and then do my theory. I also have to finish studying for my Chinese dictation and do my Chinese homework.

But enough about that, this track and field meet was super duper fun and I was apart of 2 events. I did the 800 meters (not a relay) and got second place, and I also did the medley with 3 of my friends and we got third place. The meet was really fun and I think my favourite part would be cheering my friends on and when I race, hearing other people cheer me on. It's really nice and it gives me confidence and I know there are people who support me. During the 800 meters, I wasn't out of breath, but afterwards, my legs felt like jelly. The medley was not as hard because I only had to run 100 meters, so I wasn't out of breath at all. Just a little tired. P.E has really helped me get into shape because if someone had told me to run the 800 meters before these classes of P.E, I would probably be pooped out, but thanks to P.E, I am a lot better and it has really helped me get into shape.

My random thought/statement of the day: This year's track and field meet was really fun partly because everyone was energetic and also because the weather was really great. It was hot, but at the same time, it wasn't burning hot and the winds were also really refreshing.
