Blog Term2 Day92/93

OMGosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Canada won GOLD!

Now that was a really intense game! We were doing so well first period, then second, Kesler scored... And then third seemed to go so well until the last 24 seconds! TIED! Then in OT, Crosby totally owned. We predicted we were gonna win and WE DID! Take that USA! Then again, they also did really well. Miller? Oh my gosh, he did amazing and he have this game his all. Very impressive. Kesler was good too. Actually, I'm kinda glad USA scored another goal in the last 24 seconds of third. The made the game that much more intense. I bet Downtown is a police's nightmare.

So sad the closing ceremony is tonight. I'm totally loving having the winter 2010 olympics here in Vancouver. If you haven't been downtown, you have been deprived!!!!!!! It's sooo much fun. Lots to see, lots to be a part of, it's just amazing. I went once during the day and once again at night. Time just seems to skim by. It seems like just yesterday the opening ceremonies were beginning.

GO CANADA GO!

I can't believe we broke a new record! En francais: Nous avons etabli un nouveau record! Canada a remporte 14 medailles d'or.

GO CANADA GO!

Blog Term2 Day90/91

Right now, I'm watching men's biathalon. You know what I can't believe? How fast time goes. It seems like last Friday was just a few minutes ago. Which is really weird. I find that my life is a continuous cycle. Ruled by the weekdays and weekend. Weekdays mean late night sleeps, talking and walking home with friends, while weekends mean catching up with homework, late night sleeps and church.

Actually, I really really wanted to sign up for Hawks this year. The Vancouver Hawks are an extracurricular field hockey league. Unfortunatley, the website is extremely vague about what time practices and games are, and with my already busy schedule, I don't know if I can fit it all in. But if I definetly knew the time, then I could probably work it out. Unfortunately, I have no idea. So thats just great. Just talking about this makes me sad/mad. I really wanted to join Hawks this year.

To be honest, I'm not very fond of Fridays. To me, Friday's are boring, messed up, sad and sleepy. Not a good combo.

Blog Term2 Day89

All my crochet work is due this fri. In other words, I have to finish a toque and the rest of my shopping bag within tonight and tomorrow night. I have a feeling this isn't going to be pretty. Previously, I finished 3 toques, and I just finished my 4th toque. Which means that I'll probably have time to start my last toque tonight after finishing some science homework and then go on to my shopping bag. I just started it, and I'm just getting the hang of it. Unfortunately, I'm stuck on this certain part and I still haven't found any info about it online. So I've gotta do some searching. I must say, crocheting is quite addictive, however it's not as fun when you're under a strict deadline. We had quite some time to actually do it, but it wasn't until earlier this week we found out it was due this fri!!!!!!! Better get to work!

Blog Term2 Day88

I vowed today was going to be a good day, and it was. When I woke up this morning, I was like,"Today's gonna be a good day. And if it isn't, I'm gonna make it" and so today was a good day. Except for the fact Germany just scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhh. Oh well, we're still winning 4-1. Anyways, today we were to run Langara. To me, thats a good thing because I love running Langara. I know, I'm kinda weird that way. But for some reason, I just love running Langara. And this time, I beat my old record by approx 2 minutes! My old time was 17 something, this time, I finished in 15:36. That was pretty good on my behalf. I kept a nice steady jog the whole way through. In the beginning, I was kinda slow, but after about a quarter of the trail, I sped up a bit and was able to hold it the whole way through. Except the last 200 metres, then I started to sprint to the finish line.

Drama was normal. Science totally ruled! The chapter 10 and 11 package was due today, along with the 25 video questions and the flashcards. I handed all in on time. Then, we had the chapter 10 and 11 test, which I think I did pretty well on. After the test, we could go up to the 3rd floor lab to mark the science fair projects.

In English, we finally did debate! Which is a good thing since I wasn't fully ready till yesterday. And today, I think both sides did really well. Both my partner, the Member of the Crown and I, the Prime Minister on side Government did really well. And so did our opponents. They had really great points. If you asked me my opinion on who won the debate, I would say it was tied because both teams did really well.

Blog Term2 Day86/87

Darn, yesterday's superblog was SUPPOSED to be day86 too, but I FORGOT. so it's now transfered to this blog. yepyepyep. that was one of my favourite lines from The Land Before Time. which is this video series about dinos that i used to love as a child. unfortunately, they only come in VHS casettes, and i think the VHS machine is dead. otherwise i'd be watching Sleeping Beauty right now. maybe not right now because i have A LOT OF SCIENCE HOMEWORK TO DO. Review of what i did today:
  1. french was cool cuz we had a sub- worked on this broadcasting skit called Projet Final
    - chatted with mon amie
  2. math- AWESOME! lets put it this way: my math teacher is awesome. he talks about math, but then if we ask him, he talks about TOK stuff. it's like hes a walking human of KNOWLEDGE
  3. socials- essay test bout Napoleon. spent the first 15 minutes trying to START the essay. i think i scraped 2 starts...
  4. appskills- knitted me hats (in a pirate voice) and composed the rough draft of the Churchill Carbon Challenge "Barking up the Right Tree" cards for people who get a tree

I'm running Langara tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooo excited!!!!!! GO LANGARA!

Blog Term2 Day85 Superblog22

Darn, I took a really good picture, and then I deleted it! Ah! I hate it when that happens. And now I feel bad because it could have been on this blog- but now it is forever lost in the world of deleted data. Sad, really. Anyways, this superblog is about DOWNTOWN! I went on Monday during Pro-D, and then again last night. And I think the olympics has really made Vancouver more fun. I think a lot of people are gonna be sad when the olympics leave. Because not only will a lot of people be fired once companies won't need as many people working double shifts and even 24/7, but we, the tax payers will be left in debt. Another sad situation. But I have to admit, while the 2010 olympics are commencing, it's been totally fun. Lotsa people are wearing olympic or CANADA branded clothes and even more red mittens! Thats just awesome.

Blog Term2 Day84

Hm. I was just telling my best friend how I haven't had sushi in a long time. Technically, I might not have had sushi for about a month, but if my sushi conception memories are fuzzy, then that means I haven't had sushi for a long time. I guess it's just one of those things. Then again, I absolutely LOVE sushi, so thats not a big shocker. I really want to go to one of those sushi bars. You know the ones where you sit at the bar and theres a conveyer belt that brings the plates and plates of sushi down? I love those. And the last time I went to one was 4 years ago. And that was in Hong Kong. And trust me, sushi in Hong Kong is expensive! The last time I ate at one of those sushi bars in Van was a really long time ago... I think I was only 7 or something. I just remembered I REALLY wanted to get all the california rolls, so every time I saw one pass by, I would point it out to my mom. And she told me that if I took all the california rolls off the conveyer belt, then there wouldn't be any left for the other people. Plus I couldn't eat that much. But like I said, that was a long time ago, and now that place is gone. That just makes me really sad. Because I remember that sushi bar was really popular. Darn... those were the fun times...
Hahaha, I just realized this whole blog is about sushi. So I'm gonna call this the

Blog Term2 Day82

Ugg stayed home today because I'm sick. I really hate feeling sick. Usually if I'm not too sick I try to go to school because in high school, if you miss one day, you're in trouble. Thats what don't really like about it. Then again, it's good because that encourages people to go to school so they don't miss any lessons and get behind. But at the same time, it's not a good thing because then people go to school when they are sick. And that's what made me sick. I'm pretty sure I caught it off someone. Not 100% sure, but thats my hypothesis. And the worst part is, it's such a lovely day. It's sunny, the sky is blue and overall, it looks very inviting. And I have (had) P.E. today. Oh well.

Blog Term2 Day81

I am not feeling well... I have an unhappy throat, a headache and I kinda feel like I have a fever. Only I don't think I do. And the worst part- I have A LOT of science to do tonight. Today wasn't an amazing day, not only was I not feeling great at school today, but I also totally messed on my French skit today. Not pretty. Oh well. Had course planning today. That was good. My electives are photography for half a year and drama for the whole year. Well, thats what I've chosen so far. I might do some switching, but the chances of that seem pretty slim at the mo.

Watching the mens short programme figure skating right now. It's really good. Although I do find that the pairs are more fun to watch. Wow, the Italian figure skater on right now is really good. Only messed up on the double axle so far. He did sooo well though. In character, having fun, nice smile on his face and apparently, this is his first time participating in the Olympics. Cheers for him. Right now it's commercial. Now we're back. What I like about these commercials are they are really fast. And his name is: waiting... Paolo Bacchini with 64.42 points in 3rd rank. That was good. He was very impressive. And he's so young too! Well, he sure looks young!

Update from earlier: We got another gold metal for womens snowboarding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO CANADA!

The guy on right now is also really impressive. You know what I've noticed, all the commentaries keep on refering back to Patrick Chan. And he's not even on yet! That just shows how awesome hie is. I haven't actually seen him yet, but I really really want to. From what I've heard, hes really great. Go Patrick!

2nd period in Mens Hockey. Canada vs. Norway. And so far, I believe the score is 3-0. So proud of them! My brother is a huge fan of Sydney Crosby and Roberto Luongo. So team Canada is like a dream come true for him.

Blog Term2 Day80

My family and I went downtown today. It was really really fun. I woke up at around 8:15, but didn't actually get off the bed till 8:30. When I finally did, I washed up and had breakfast with my mum and brother. We had sticky rice and little steamed dumplings. They were yummy. At 9:30, my mom, brother, aunt, uncle, 2 cousins and I left the house and made our way to the Marine Dr. Canada Line station. We then went all the way down to Van City Centre, the second last stop before Waterfront.

Once we got off, we immediately made our way to the Vancouver Art Gallery. Even when it was only around 10:10, there was already an impressive line up to get in. I think we waited for about 45 mintues before we finally got in. But I've gotta say, it was worth it. The main focus was the Leonardo da Vinci anatomy sketches. But another major exibit was top floor, where they featured this rainforest-like place and if you went furthur into the exibit, theres this really awesome water/fog-like thing that spills down like a waterfall. Only it's just like steam or something. Totally cool! It also connects with an eco-friendly room which has interactive games to teach us how to be more green.

We walked around a bit, took several pics, visited the art gallery and just had fun. Then we went for lunch as it was already around 1. Right outside the art gallery, theres the zip line. I really really wanted to go on the zip line, but the line up was reallllly long. Like realllllly long. No kidding. So we went down Robson debating which restaurant we should stop by for lunch. In the end, we chose Tropica. (I think that's what it's called.) Tropica is this Malaysian and Thai restaurant. And the food was really really great. A lot of restaurants have yummy food. But the food today was in a way amazing. I don't usually eat Malaysian or Thai food either, so that was a refreshing change.

Then, we walked around Robson for a bit more, stopped by HMV and then made our way to Yaletown. We walked around a bit more before heading back on Canada Line and returning home. It was a pretty fun day, only there was a lot of lining up and not enough time. But I hope we can go again. :)

Blog Term2 Day79 Superblog21

As you can probably hypothesize, this was the Olympic Torch Relay! Fuuuunnnnnnn!!!!!!! This actually took place last Thursday at around 4pm after school, but I have had an extremely busy day, so here the pics are! OMGosh! I was sososososososo excited. And I still am! I can't believe that I actually got to see STEVE NASH in person. I didn't actually go up to him and say hi because there were soooo many people trying to get to him. But if I had the chance to, I totally would have! And asked for his autograph too. My dad is a HUGE basketball fan, so he would have been really amazed. I don't know the name of the lady who passed the flame to Steve Nash, but I did get a chance to meet her great aunt, I believe. I went with my friends, and the lady beside us was her great aunt. I'm still not 100% sure if she was her great aunt, but she did seem very excited, so were we.
It was so amazing! I actually got to see the flame being transfered from one torch to the other, as you can see from the pics. It was totally amazing! Like super duper amazing! And these people passed out flags and I also got a RBC tamboreen! (Sorry if thats spelled wrong, but you get the pic.) And I still have it! It's sooo awesome!
And the funny thing was, every time a car passed by, we would all cheer. And especially if the car honked, then we would all go nuts over it! I love us! We are so awsesomely supportive. (Besides the protestors) But all the people at Heather and 49th were supportive. It was such an amazing thing. We all came together to cheer our Canadians on! And the time was perfect too- right after school. Weather could have been sunnier, but hey, it didn't rain that much. It was just spitting. So that was cool.
GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
