There is the Canucks game going on and I think the score is 3-1 Canucks! WE ROCK! GO CANUCKS! YES! Okay, enough of my crazy "caps lock" words. I'm just a little energetic from my 2 hour nap. Today, we had a recognition assembly, and I was recognized for 2 things. One of them, I knew that I was going to be recognized because it was the Honour Roll for term 2. For the Honour Roll, one must retain a 3.5 grade average. I am really proud of my mark, and am glad to be on the Honour Roll. The other reward I got was a surprise to me. It is also a new recognition award. Judging by the description the vice-principal gave, it is a general award for those who are helpful, nice, caring and show leadership. The teachers pass around names and see who deserves the award, and I got it! I am really proud of myself and it feels really good to be recognized.

Tomorrow is also the track and field meet for all grade 8s and I am so excited and cannot wait. I am doing 2 events and they are the 800 meters (I am heat 4, lane 3) and also the co-ed medley. For the medley, we are also heat 4 and lane 3, and I am the second 100 meter runner. I really hope that I can do super duper well and run my fastest.

My random thought/statement of the day: I can't wait until all the field trips that are coming up!

I am so tired today. Mainly because I slept quite late last night. For today, my goal is to sleep early and study lots for my Chinese dictation this week. I really have to study more for my Chinese dictation. Arg! Just thinking about that gives me a small headache.

On the bright side, I can't wait for all those field trips that are planned for May. The first field trip is the one where we go to Playland. I know, it sounds super-duper fun, but it's actually not that awesome. Well, we have to do worksheets... But they shouldn't be too bad because they are all about the rides. So I guess we do the worksheets right after we have done the rides. The worksheets must also be done in partners and my partner is in my same science class, and I am really glad to go with her because we are really close friends. I also wish that we can finish all the worksheets earlier so that we can then go on rides just for fun! I love Playland very much and I have gone there about 2-3 times before.

My random thought/statement of the day: GO PLAYLAND RIDES! (Actually, I love all amusement park rides and especially roller coasters!)

For P.E today, we were practicing for the track and field meet this Friday. For me, my main goal was to practice the passing of batons for the co-ed medley race. I am the second runner and the group, so that mean I run 100 meters. The medley race consists of 4 runners. The first and second runners run 100 meters, the second runner does 200 meters and the last runner does 400 meters. I am glad to be doing the 100 meters because I am also doing the 800 meters later on. 800 meters is technically twice around the track, and although I know I will be very tired, I am happy to do one that is quite challenging. I always like a little challenge and since one of my friends is doing that run too, it makes it a little better. I'm actually not a very fast runner and speed is not my element, and I am much better with super long distances. Like the Langara route. I am still not remotely close to being the fastest runner, but I know my pace and I can jog it the whole way without stopping or going any slower.

My random thought/statement of the day: I like playing the piano and I wish I had more time to practice.

I really like the idea of knitting and watching a movie at the same time. Today, we watched Troy and it was really good. My favourite character is Hector, the eldest son of King Priam of Troy. Unfortunately, he was killed by Achilles and that was really sad. I think that watching a movie while knitting is a good idea because not only do you get to enjoy the movie, but time also flies by and before long, you have finished a lot of the scarf. I was really surprised at how much I did during the movie, and I think I completed about 15 cm. That is actually quite a lot, even though it may not seem like it.

Gah! My finger still hurts, but that's fine because I have rotated between polysporin, band aid and just letting it rest and breathe. Right now, there is nothing on my cut because I am letting it breathe. Other wise, it is going to get swollen and ugly. I also just had an amazingly large lunch and my tummy is about to explode! AH! That really hurt, I just pressed a key really hard with the finger.

Today is such a lovely day and I spent about an hour outside in my backyard just hanging around and relaxing. I wish I could ride my bike around the neighbourhood but I can't because I have 6 tests/quizzes to study for and a major oral presentation. I can just tell that this week is going to very very busy. Plus, I have to start studying for my Chinese dictation.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love eating french fries, but sweet potato fries are even better!

Ouch, I just acquired a really large cut. And now, it sort of hurts to type, but that's too bad. You see, I was cleaning my scissors when the tissue slipped and the long blade ran along my index finger. The cut is not big, but it is really really long. First, my mom guided me in washing it in really cold water while squeezing it. After about a minute, I took a tissue and applied pressure into it to stop the bleeding. And now, after putting on some polysporin, I have put a small bandage over it and am still applying pressure. Okay, now it hurts whenever I type a letter. OUCH! This totally ruins fun night. Before, we were just watching Madagascar 2, and it is hilarious! I just love it so much. I watched Madagascar a long time ago, and I am very happy to see all the old characters with the same voices. I think my favourite character is Gloria, the hippo. But that is totally understandable because I love hippos.

My random thought/statement of the day: I'm not going to type anymore, my index really hurts, and it is fairly hard to type with my middle finger.

Wow, Shakespeare's A Mid Summer Night Dream was amazing! All the actors were very good too. Personally, I love acting, so maybe next year when Chinese school is over, I can audition for a part in a school play. This play was a comedy, and I love comedies. I find them to be a lot more enjoying than tragedies. Mainly because I like happy endings, with nobody dying. Even though tragedies are very beautiful. The play started at 7:00pm and ended at around 9:30pm, so I got back home at around 10:00pm. It took up all of the night, so thank goodness today is a Pro-D day, that leaves me time to finish all my homework that is due tomorrow and on Monday. I actually have a lot of tests on Monday, plus an oral presentation, so I really better get going. So far, I have finished all my math and French that is due tomorrow. (Oh wait, I also have a French quiz tomorrow.) But that is okay, I think the French quiz should be fine!

My random thought/statement of the day: If you haven't seen the play, you have to because it is really good and all of the crew put a lot of effort into it.

It is such a lovely day today! Actually, it wasn't that awesome this morning, but it's awesome right now. Before lunch, I had P.E, and we were outside the whole time. We were testing discus, and lets just say that it was really really cold. I decided to bring my light hoody at the last minute and I am glad that I did because if I didn't, I am sure my arms would have froze. The sun was out, but the winds were freezing. So I am really grateful for my decision and hoody! I can't really seem to throw a discus either.

My random thought/statement of the day: Tonight, I am going to watch the school play with my friend. I really like Shakespeare's plays, so I pretty excited to see his Midsummer's Night Dream.

My Chinese teacher just called... Hahahahahaha, that was kinda weird. But my Chinese teacher is very nice, and I am grateful for her teaching. Even though I suffer every week because the dictation is so hard, I understand that the outcome will be good. I am also very grateful for my parents whom have pushed me and have supported me whenever I do my Chinese work or study for dictation. One of my main goals is to learn at least 2 more languages besides English. I can speak and understand Cantonese reasonably well, but my reading and writing is terrible. That is why I want to finish learning Cantonese and Mandarin and finally French too. I really want to take French lessons out of school, but they are very expensive. So for now, I am just learning in school. But I did a brain project about speech and I know that the earlier I learn a language, the better. It's because my brain is still in the stage of developing, and once the brain has fully developed, it is much, much harder to add more stuff in like language.

My random thought/statement of the day: I am watching the Canucks against the Blues at the moment, and they are going into their second overtime, and I really hope they win.

Lets just say that my legs are really sore and tired. And guess what? Today, we had to do the 100 meter sprint. Trust me, it wasn't pretty. Mainly because my legs were hurting the whole way, so I was wincing a lot. Actually, it was okay during the race because my adrenaline was pumping and I wasn't focusing on the pain. It really hurt right after though. Right after the race, my legs felt even worse and to top it all, my left knee hurt. It still does, but now, if feels a lot better. I think my left knee started to hurt this morning when I bumped it really hard as I got into the car. Then, after that it just started to slowly hurt even more. What can I say, go figure. Ice helps, and it doesn't look bruised but it's getting there. One more bump and there will definitely be a large bruise. A couple years ago, I went to camp and for some reason, whenever I entered the dorm, I would bump my left knee on the edge of the bunk. After I bumped it about 2 times, there was a bruise the size of a small orange and it looked really gross. But then again, I bumped it super duper hard. That's why I still remember it. Ahhhhh. I just love camping! It is so much fun!

My random thought/statement of the day: I really want to go to camp this year, but I can't because I'm going to attend a wedding!

The Sun Run rules! I had an awesome time and I am pretty sure everyone else there did. The marathon was 10 km. I thought it was a lot, but apparently it isn't because when I told my dad, he said that most of them are over 10 km. This was the first time I did it, so it's good to say that the experience was a good one, and I really hope to go next year too. The weather was awesome too. Before it started, the weather forecast said that it would be 60% rain, so I brought my light rain jacket and a light sweater. It kept me warm before the race, but after about 2 km, I got really hot and I needed to take it off. So next time, I am not going to bring so many jackets because I had to run 8 km holding my jackets. (I tried tying them around my waist, but they kept slipping off.) The overall run was quite nice and comfortably tyring. After the the run, we went inside BC Place and stuffed our faces with bagels, bananas, oranges, yogurt, juice, power bars and lots of water. My favourite were the bagels and the yogurt. And to tell you the truth, the best part was dipping the bagel into the yogurt. Yum! Next time I have bagels and yogurt, I'm gonna combine them to make the ultimate yummy snack. Also, I liked how the people didn't mind if we took a lot of them. I was so hungry at the time, I took 2 bagels and 2 juices, but they didn't mind at all. In fact, they encouraged us taking more. Later, I took 2 yogurts too! I found the whole run really fun and the best part is, there are so many people, there is no way you can get lost. And everyone there is really nice and supportive of each other.

My random thought/statement of the day: There were so many people, I didn't even see my best friend throughout the whole time! :'(

I just came back from going to Dairy Queen because it is such a hot day! I got a small chocolate dip cone and guess what? There, I met a friend whom I have not seen or had any contact with in ages. She is a year younger than me (grade 7) so we don't go to the same school. But I think she is coming to the same school as me next year, so that is awesome. We used to be like sisters, but now I guess we have grown apart from each other.

I love eating ice cream! It is just so yummy! Hahahahahaha my favourite desert is ice cream, sweetened yams, (does that sound weird? because I love it!) and fruit cake. Yummm. I'm actually not too hungry because I stuffed my face during lunch but I like talking about food.

Okay, I know that this is a late blog, but I have good reason. I had this massive headache, and I didn't want to take an Advil, so I just took a really long nap which really helped because now, I don't have a headache. Also, I couldn't do it before because I did Grassroots Recycling and then I had a dentist appointment. All the dentist did was change my colour elastics on my braces. Before, they were turquoise, and now, they are blue! Hahahahahaha, when the dentist asked what colour I wanted, it took me a long time to decide because I wanted a purple, but then again, I also liked the blue. Plus, there were a lot of shades of blue and purple, so I had to narrow it down. Tomorrow, I have Chinese school and then piano lessons like usual. So it's back to the same old schedule.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love Middle Years field trips, they are always the BEST!

Yes! Today was such a sunny day! But now, it's not too sunny, but that's fine. I had P.E today, and we had our shot put test and now, we are learning discus. I have never done discus before, so it's quite interesting. It's like Frisbee, but it's much heavier and the technique for throwing it is different. I only got to throw it twice, so it's still quite new to me, but the good thing is, most people in the class have never done it before, so hopefully my P.E teacher will give us more time to practice before the test. For my shot put test, I got a 7 out of 10. I am pretty happy with my mark, but I think that I could have done better. In my practice rounds, I did a lot better so that is the bad part, but I think I should be fine.

Yay, another fun day 2! I don't actually have too much homework. In science, I have to make a haiku about hurricanes, and for English, I have to write a speech for my goddess and study for my upcoming test. I also need to knit more for applied skills. I think we were supposed to have completed 3 scarves, but I am only just finishing my 2nd one. I probably need about 30 cm for my scarf before I am done. Then, I will be done my second scarf. But the good thing is, I will probably finish that scarf tonight, and then I can go ahead with my 3rd one. I really like knitting because not only is it really fun, but we are also giving the scarves away for a good cause, and I am pleased to be a part of it.

There is also that Sun Run this Sunday, and I am quite excited because it would be my first time participating. I have heard many stories about how fun it is, and I can't wait to go. I actually really like jogging, but only if it is for long distances. I really like jogging Langara too! So the Sun Run is going to be awesome. I am also looking forward to the buffet after the run! Another thing that I really like is getting the shirt. My friend already got her's and the painting in the front looks really amazing!

It's back to school and today wasn't that bad. I only have math homework. Even if it is 2 pages back to back and I don't get part of it. Today, I had French, P.E, math and art. My favourite class out of all of these is art. I'm not actually too in to art, but I like the way we can express ourselves. Most classes, we have to do what the teacher says, and it is hard to really say what we want, but with art, we can put ourselves into the pieces that we do. Today, we completed these geometric drawings and the goal of this was to see the many different shades that we could make. We borrowed the sketching pencils from the teacher and then, we could use them. The range in my pencils is from 8B to 6H. That is a pretty wide range. I don't have 2H though. That is the only pencil I am missing. 8B is actually extremely dark and soft, and 6H is a really hard and light pencil. The pencil that I use most often is HB and 2B. HB is just normal pencil, and I think it is the perfect pencil. Not too hard and not too soft. I am very proud of my geometric drawing, and I think the shading I did was very nice. I used all of my pencils too, so there is a very wide range of shades.

My random thought/statement of the day: I can't wait until first block tomorrow because we are going to continue watching a movie about knights in socials.

Noooooooooooooooo! It's the last day of the 4 day weekend. To tell you the truth, I think that normal weekends should be like that. I just love sleeping in! It really helps me recharge and I am glad that I didn't get too much homework. Only math and English homework. For English, we have to write this essay but to me, essays are fun. Especially when the topic is fun. We are writing about Greek gods and goddesses and I am Aphrodite. She is actually a pretty well known goddess. But I don't feel like writing right now, and I have sort of left this essay till the last day. So I will probably continue this later tonight. Thank goodness I finished all my other homework so tonight, all I have to do is finish this essay and I can sleep! I am planning on sleeping at 10:00pm so I can get a fresh start tomorrow.

I just came back from watching another movie! On Friday, I watched Hannah Montana the movie. And today, my family and I watched Monsters vs. Aliens. It was soooooo good! There were so many really funny parts, and the blue blob (B.O.B) is totally hilarious. I loved the part he talked to the green Jello-O. And since we watched it in 3-D, it was especially good. I haven't watched a 3-D movie in a long time, and this one totally rocks! I am serious, there were parts where I thought that something was going to hit me in the face. Oh yeah, I remember another really funny part. It involved the president of the United States in the movie. He was trying to communicate to an evil alien (but he didn't know it was evil) and he started to play this hilarious punk song. I was laughing so hard! I nearly choked on the Sprite I was drinking. The popcorn was also awesome!

I finished all my math homework, but I still have loads of English homework to do. I am planning on doing half of my English homework tonight, and the rest tomorrow. That should leave Monday for a full day of relaxing. I know this sounds really kiddish, but I still like to play with stuffies. My brother and I have loads of stuffies, and we play with them when we have time. But I haven't had much time lately due to all my homework and tests. So on Monday, I want to play an adventure game with my brother and the Clubhouse stuffes. In the Clubhouse, we have 8 stuffies. 4 of them are mine and the other 4 belong to my brother. I own a hippo, a cat, a t-rex and a giraffe. My brother has a tiger, a bunny, a duck and a lion. They are all so cute!

It's also good exercise. Today, my friends and I watched Hannah Montana the Movie. It was really fun and a good movie overall. There were a lot of funny moments, and some serious ones too. My favourite actors in this movie are Emily Osment and Jason Earls. They aren't the main characters, but they all both extremely good actors. The movie started at 1:00pm. And guess what? The 4 of us shared 2 large bags of popcorn! It was crazy, and I was scared that we couldn't finish them, but in the end, we finished them! And it was good! Then, I got a strawberry sorbet at Vivo Gelato! and my 3 friends got an Orange Julius each. Overall, the movie, snacks and sweet treats were good.

For applied skills today, we got to watch The Wizard of Oz while knitting! I have never actually watched that movie, so that was really cool. All of my friends have watched it a couple times already, so it's good to finally be able to watch it. But I must admit, I think I would have liked it a lot more as a young child. The movie is very good, but I think it's target audience is little kids, so some parts don't seem as good as they would have if I were a child. It was so cool though! We got about halfway (probably a little more) and so far, it's pretty good.

This 4 day weekend, I only have math and English homework. For math, I only have 2 worksheets, but for English, I have a small mound! We were supposed to have science homework too, but I finished it all during science, so now, I only have English homework from day 2. I am planning on doing all my math and half of the English homework tonight. I also have to practice loads of piano.

Guess what? Tomorrow, I am going to see Hannah Montana the Movie. It's release date is also tomorrow, so I hope that there are not too many people. That is why I bought the tickets ahead of time. I am going with 3 of my friends, and I hope it's super-duper good!

Have you ever tried freeze-dried strawberries? It might sound weird, but they are just strawberries with all the water content taken out of it. And they are sliced into... slices, and surprisingly, they tasted really good. At first, I had doubts about sweetness and what not, but they were truly delicious. These strawberries were picked in the summer, when they are the sweetest, and then dried and sealed in an air tight packet. So in other words, the strawberries are frozen in time. They are extremely sweet, and they taste 100% like strawberries. The bag said that they are 100% fruit with no added sugar or chemicals to make them last a long time. And if you soak them in water, they become normal again! It is so cool and yummy!

My random thought/statement of the day: You have to try the freeze-dried strawberries. The brand name is Fruit Guru, and I think they are on sale at Costco for a pack. They are really really yummy!

Oh wow, what a day! We had that major socials test that I was talking about for ages. Last night, while I was studying, I actually feel asleep. And this morning, I didn't even bother to wake up early to study. Do you want to know why? It's because I studied a lot ahead of time, so I didn't cram right before the test! I am so glad that I decided to study 2 weeks before the test. I actually have to owe half of my thanks to the GO program. I learned how to do my work when it was not urgent and not important, the best way to study. And I found the results to be quite nice. The good thing about it is that I got to have a good night's sleep. And I was also not too stressed out compared to how I usually am. I know that I got 2 questions wrong, but if that is all, I should still manage to get an A. That makes me very happy, although it is still too early to say what mark I got. But if I did get an A, or an extremely high B, I will be sure to use this studying technique forever. Actually, I think that I will use this technique anyways, because I found this way to be much better.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! (Actually, it's only the best time of the week.) I love Saturday nights because it is my fun night. Yay me! We also had some broccoli and carrots. It was really yummy.

Well, today was my Chinese test, and even though I know I totally messed up on the story-composition, I think the rest is pretty cool. And do you know what the best part about this is? Next week is Easter holiday, so there is no Chinese school for that week. And I also don't have any dictation because the test took the whole class time. That just makes me very happy. But I still have to practice loads of piano, and we have that major socials test on Tuesday. I just hope that I get a good mark. But trust me, I studied lots, and I am still going to study loads. Blog Term3 Day28

Gah! I feel really really tired. And today was a terrible day for me. I am serious. I had a math test this morning (first block) and I think I failed. The reason I state this is because I didn't finish about 5 questions. Whenever I do algebra, it takes me forever to answer a question because first, I need to figure out how to do it, then I have to do the let statements. And after that, I have to do find the equation and do the work. And finally, I have to write out my answer in a sentence and check the work by using the equation. That is why each question takes me forever! I hope that I get at least a C+. I know that it is still the beginning of the term, so I still have time to improve, but I really can't rely on the time, and if I get behind, it gets really hard to catch up. I have been getting an A in math for both terms, and I am determined to continue that pattern. Last term, I got 2 B's. One in socials and the other in P.E. I understand why I get an A in P.E. I am just a B P.E person, but I will try really hard to do better. However, I am not off to a good start. We just had a high jump test for track and field, and I only got 5/10. That means that I just passed, but that means that I have more to catch up on...

My random thought/statement of the day: For this term, my goal is to get on the Principal's List. Also known as straight A's. (It's gonna take a miracle for me to get an A in P.E, but I will try super duper hard.)

Blog Term3 Day27

Well, it's April Fool's day, but I didn't prank anyone. There was nobody to prank. Back in elementary school, in grade 7, my friends and I would prank our teacher. He was the best for pranking! And that was what made it really fun. There is also supposed to be that virus on the computers today, so after I am done doing my blog, I will probably turn it off. I just can't risk getting the computers infected. To tell you the truth, whoever makes viruses are really annoying, and I don't understand why they would do that. To me, it just shows that some people have a lot of extra time on their hands, and have nothing to do, so they make viruses to annoy people. Viruses are truly annoying, and the people who make them just want to do it for the publicity.

I had an English test today, and I think I did terribly... I did study lots, but we had to comprehend this poem, and I think I messed up on that. To me, the poem is just too hard to understand. But I should have done really well in the vocab. We were also supposed to have a socials test on Friday, but it is postponed until Tuesday, so that makes me very very happy! It gives me more time to study and now, I can study more for my Chinese test on Saturday. But I still have a major math test tomorrow on algebra, which I find to be very hard. And a French quiz too.

My random thought/statement of the day: Tonight, my goal is to sleep at latest 12.
