Blog Term2 Day99

Cool! This is blog 99 of term 2! I think I wrote something like that in term 1... Hahahahaha! Right now, I feel really relaxed. I just came out of the shower, and now, I feel clean and warm. I also used this really cool body wash that smells like mangoes and passion fruit. Anyways, enough about soap!

I can't believe that next week, I won't have to go to Chinese school because I am going to the regional science fair! I am so excited about it. In grade 4, I went to the science fair in Science World, but that was so long ago. Plus, on that day, I was really inconveniently sick and I was barfing everywhere. So after suffering through lunch, I had to leave. Trust me, I wasn't all that pleased because not only was I leaving my partner behind, but it was my first project that was marked by judges, so you can probably imagine me, sick and really pale, begging to stay. Trust me, it wasn't a pretty scene.

Then, in grade 6, I did this Heritage Fair. It was a lot of work, and it took me a lot of effort and time, but in the end, everything turned out fine, and I made it to the regional! (I had to sacrifice my whole Spring Break to type out everything, so that made me sad.) But I still managed to make it to the regional, and I made some friends, plus, I got a free tour of the museum where the fair took place, so that was cool. I didn't make it to the nationals, but just being there with all those people was such a treat. We also got to raid the gift shop, and I bought myself so many of those sugar sticks. In the end, my favourite flavour was called Bahama Mama. I think it just tasted sweet, and tropical. YUM! I also got my brother a couple of those sticks and for my parents and grandpa, I got them a First Nations magnet. They looked so pretty, and the colour contrast was just amazing, so I had to get it. In the end I blew all of the $20 I earned, but now, whenever I look at the magnets on the fridge, it brings back warm memories! Plus, I enjoyed a lot of candy!

My random thought/statement of the day: I can't wait to go to the science fair, then I can tell you about it and add the story to my memory! Yay! I am just so pleased with myself that I got in. Just because I got into the science fair regional, I feel really happy! Double yay!

Blog Term2 Day98

Oh great, I am just so sleepy! And I still need to play piano, study for my Chinese dictation, and do my theory and other Chinese homework pieces! Last night, I stayed up late doing most of my Chinese dictation, but there is so much I couldn't do it all. Now, I am really feeling the pressure. I also have a headache. I don't even know why... Maybe because last night, I slept at 1am. I never get enough sleep... I don't even have time to practice piano too much now. I only have time to practice 1-2 times a week now. I think I will be doing my piano exam some time in the summer. I just hope that I can practice enough. This weekend, I don't have that much homework (compared to usual) but there are a couple major tests and a few simple quizes lined up because it's almost the end of the term.

My random thought/statement of the day: The sushi I had for dinner was soooooo good!

Blog Term2 Day97

Great, my leg still really really hurts. And guess what? For P.E today, we had to run 4 laps around the school for the warm-up run. Then, we did weight-training. It was hard because not only did my leg hurt then, but my whole body was practically frozen. When we ran, it was probably only 2 degrees or so. And I was in my gym strip! My arms and legs had major goosebumps, and my fingers felt frozen and when I tried to write down the time it took me to complete the laps, the words were very messy because I couldn't control my fingers. Talk about crazy. But after doing the 4 laps, I felt really good inside and out! I guess we are just preparing for the Langara and Sun Run.

My random thought/statement of the day: Guess what? Tomorrow for dinner I get to eat sushi! It took me 10 minutes to choose which ones I wanted. I usually get the house roll with is crab, salmon, tamago, tuna, cucumber, and fish eggs all in one. But I decided to try something new, so I got the chicken teriyaki and yam tempura.

Blog Term2 Day96

Oh great, for some reason, I seemed to have hurt one of my tendons in my right leg. I don't even know why. I think I pulled something. Actually, I don't know if it is a tendon, but I think it is. So now, as I type this blog, my right leg is resting on a heat pack. It feels really soothing too! Ahhh! I just rearranged the pack so that it is in a more comforting position. For applied skills today, we started knitting! I really love knitting because it is super-duper fun. But the only problem is that it takes a lot of time and it's extremely easy to make mistakes. I was taught how to knit by my grade 5 teacher. I only know the knit knit. Not the pearl knit. I have been taught the pearl knit, and I know the concept, but I make so may mistakes, that I consider myself alien to the pearl knit. Actually, it's quite simple. The pearl knit is only the opposite of the knit knit. But I always get confused, which results in holes, missed stitches and other mistakes. The most I have ever knitted was a blanket... But the blanket was for my stuffed animals! So it wasn't very big! Usually, when I tell people I knitted a blanket, they think I am really really good. And then I tell them it was only for my stuffed animals. It just gets really funny because usually, they just say,"Oh." or something. I just like knitting overall! When I was in grade 5, (when I didn't even have half the amount of homework I have currently) I used to knit lots. I remember this particular night I sat in bed and knitted for an hour straight. In the end, I only accomplished 8 rows because it took me forever to get the hang of it. But I was really concentrated and determined, so I finished it in the end.

My random thought/statement of the day: I think that I must get more yarn! (And if I can, the multi-coloured ones) because those look sooooo much cooler!

Do you want to hear good news? I made it to the science fair regional. The only problem is the registration, which is a real bugger. I am sooooooooooo happy that I got into the regional! There were only 3 people picked out of 30, so I am super-duper happy! But enough with the bragging! ;) Yes, like I was saying before, the registration is sort of annoying, because there is a whole bunch of information I need to insert, and some of them is like: What is your science teacher's email. And stuff like that. I just don't know the answer to some of them! Then, there are questions about chemicals and... for my science fair project, I did use a chemical, that is what makes it tricky...

My random thought/statement of the day: Ahhhh! I am still not done the hydraulic lift, and it's due tomorrow!

My teeth feel really numb from my braces. Urg... I can't really eat, unless I eat slowly. But after about a week or so, it feels normal. But for now, I am stuck with numb and weird-feeling teeth. More like weird feeling gums though. :) We also have to do this hydraulic lift for science. It seemed really really fun before we actually did it. But now, it seems much harder. The problem is that it leaks! The water seems to just leak away. And the piston that we have also doesn't work. It just lets the water slip by! After blogging and doing my online GO quiz, I am probably gonna work on my hydraulic lift.

My random thought/statement of the day: I "Asian failed" another socials quiz! I think I got a 60 something percent. Blah! X(

Blog Term2 Day93

Yay, I'm blogging in the morning! Actually, it's not too early. It's almost 10am. I just woke up, but last night, I slept really late finishing some homework. Today, I am mostly going to do all the harder stuff. Like projects and stuff. I am going over to a friend's house to do my hydraulic pump at around 1pm, so I have to finish the majority of my work right now. I will probably be back home at around 4:30pm. That only leaves enough time to do a little bit of stuff. Okay, maybe even more than a little, but I want to finish more right now. Then, I can sleep earlier. Yay!

My random thought/statement of the day: I love plushy stuffed animals! :)

Blog Term2 Day92

Guess what? It's my favourite time of the week! Okay, second favourite. My favourite time of the week is Saturday afternoon. After piano lessons! Hahahahaha! Usually, that is when I go shopping! That is probably the only 2-3 hours I can actually relax in a week. Today, I went to Metrotown and I got 2 shirts and a pair of pants from Aeropostale. Yay me! Now, it's time to do homework. But I like this time because it is when I can do homework in a leisurely kind of way. I usually do all the not so hard homework now. And then tomorrow, I do the "heavy-duty stuff". I'm also going to build my hydraulic pump then. But for now, I feel tired and I will probably finish off all my work after a nap...

My random thought/statement of the day: I love taking naps, it really helps me feel more energized.

I got my top braces today! They feel a little weird, but other than that, everything seems good! I already had my bottom braces on for about a month, so now, I finally got the top ones. The dentist says I have to wear it for a year. I would have had to wear for a longer period, but I had to wear a retainer for a year before, so I also don't have to pull out any teeth. Yay! I don't like going to the dentist office! I just don't. Even the cleaning is a bugger. I hate gurgling the fluoride. And I can't even rinse out the taste with water afterwards. So that makes the situation even worse. But other than that, I guess it's okay.

My random thought/statement of the day: Do you know that place called Booster Juice? I haven't actually tried any of their juices, but I get a discount on it because I have a SPC card. When I went on their web, and checked out their drinks, it looked pretty good. There is a location at Metropolis at Metrotown, so I might check it out.

You know what I don't get? We seem to get mid-terms when the term is almost over. It is just a little weird right? Shouldn't we get mid-terms in the middle of the term? Some of my marks are really bad (Asian fails), and I really want to change them. But the problem is, if we get our mid-terms with only about 3 weeks to go, that doesn't give much time for improvement. In my Middle Years classes, my A's (only 2 that I know of) are really close to a B. The percent is only about 88% or so, with 2 marks, I would be stuck with a B. That is why every mark counts now. I really want to do better than term 1, not worse. That is what usually happens. I do nicely in term 1, and then for the rest of the terms, my marks slowly decline. :(

My random thought/statement of the day: My dad and I are watching (I am half watching) the Canucks game. And guess what? They are winning so far! They are playing against Ottawa and the score is 4-2.

What a day! I have a lot of homework assigned today, but it's okay. I am so excited about Pro-D day! It's this Friday, and I just need a break and a day to sleep in. I am planning to sleep in until 9 or 10am. Yay! Then, I really want to go shopping. In other words, just have fun. I haven't had much fun these couple of weeks, so this is finally a break! Then, after lunch, I have to get my top braces. Ugggg! I don't like braces too much. They cut my lip a lot and I can't bite into hard things much. Even when I bite into the crust of some pizzas, it feels really weird for my bottom teeth. (I only have braces on my bottom teeth right now). So now, after Friday, I will have braces on my top and bottom teeth!

My random thought/statement of the day: I'm gonna go "big fish" hunting tonight. (For the donations.)

I don't know why, but I am so hungry! Not so much now though. I just had a piece of chocolate. Even though I don't like sweets... Well, when people are hungry, they will eat anything, and compared to some people in the world, eating chocolate isn't at all that bad. But I am not complaining, just stating. Actually, that chocolate wasn't that bad. Anyways, lets change topic, I am sure that you don't really want to hear about my chocolate disliking... I want to take part in the school play. But I'm not sure that I am good enough, and it requires a lot of time. My friend said that rehearsals were 12 hours a week. I would love to join, but I just don't have the time. I'm also not too good with Shakespeare, and that is what the drama teacher said the auditions were using. I find it difficult to pronounce the words, and my reading abilities are fast, but when I am confronted with a whole bunch of people each wanting a part, I am sure I won't be able to do as well as I might have been. I love acting though! It is just so much fun, and I love the thrill of the audience staring (after rehearsing the part many many times).

My random thought/statement of the day: I love acting and dancing! :)

I'm almost done reading the last Harry Potter book. I just have the last 3 chapters, but this is probably the most important part of the whole series, so when I read it, it takes a lot of concentration and time to fully process it. I don't like finishing a series... I know that stories have to end, but I really like to keep on reading it. Oh well, we can't get everything we want. I usually take a nap before I have dinner now. And it really helps me stay awake for a while, but I usually need to take another nap if I want to stay up later. Ahhh! I suddenly feel really cold but I don't want to go to my room to get my house-coat. Yep, that's me, a lazy lazy person. But I guess everyone is like that. Sometimes, I just want to sleep, eat and read books only. Hahahaha. Actually, that would be very bad my physical health.

For practically the whole day, I was over at a friend's house working in the socials project. There was so much to be done, and we didn't get to rehearse too much, so I am a little nervous. But I guess that if we know our information well enough, it should be fine. I still have to find more information though. But other than that, I also have some science, math, and more socials. I really want to sleep earlier tonight. Over the weekend, I was mostly working on my socials presentation, so I didn't have much time to do anything else. That is why I have lots of stuff to do tonight.

Oh great, I have a headache. I used to get more in grade 7, and I haven't gotten too many this year. Boy do I hate headaches. Usually, when it gets really bad, I have to take an Advil. But today isn't that bad. And I don't want to take many because I am scared that I might build an immunity to them. Actually, there are some teas that help. My mom got this blueberry Rooboos tea. (I think that's how you spell it). It doesn't have any caffeine, so that is what I like about it. Plus it tastes really good. I have this socials presentation on Monday, and it still needs a lot of work. So this weekend is mainly centered around completing this project. Okay, I have left all my Chinese homework very last minute... So I have to get going. I usually do it the Saturday night right after the lessons, but I couldn't because of the science fair. Now, this week, I have this socials project to do, and I think I am getting sick from lack of sleep. I haven't slept much this week. It's either one thing or another. I know I won't be getting much sleep tonight, but maybe tomorrow night. My wish for right now is to not worry about Chinese school, or piano lessons, or school and just catch up on all the sleep I missed out on this week! My eyes feel really sore and I would just love to sleep so badly. But I have loads of work to do, so I really can't.

I usually don't blog this late... but we had a guest come over for dinner, so I didn't blog then. I just woke up from a nap and I am quite awake... My legs feel a little weird though. After blogging, I have to practice piano. I haven't practiced for a while, so it's time I get going! School today was same, nothing really all that important. I just realize that I go to the school library a lot. If I'm not there in the morning, I would be there at lunch, doing some studying. I guess I just like the school library a lot. I love the little study carols (I also have a favourite spot) and the way everything is spaced. I also really like the places that just have tables. The only problem is, during lunch break, some people go in just for fun and make a lot of noise. Sometimes, it makes me a little mad. Really, if people really want to be loud, they should go to the caf!

Blog Term2 Day82

Yay! I found my agenda! Apparently, a friend took my agenda, thinking it was his. Hahahahaha. At least I found it. That makes me feel a lot better because I use my agenda a lot. I write down ALL my homework in there, so it is very important to me. Anyways, I am sure that you don't want to hear me talk about my agenda... That would be very boring.

So today, we went on a "field trip". We actually only went to the auditorium, but the presentation was as good as any field trip. It was a Me to We presentation. There were 2 guest speakers that came and gave really good, meaningful and funny stories. One of the speakers, Spencer was really really funny! I just love his stories, he really could try out for stand-up comedy! Then the other speaker, Emily (I think that is her name...) was also really good. I loved her band-aid story. Somehow, she made it funny, but the moral of the story was actually very serious. The way the guest speakers formatted their presentation was very good. First, they started off with a fun game. Then, there were funny stories, then serious stories, then a video clip and then another story and finally a really nice song to wrap the presentation up. Not only was the song really original, but the lyrics fit in perfectly! There were some rhyming parts, some serious parts, and I loved the verses. The tune of the song was also very good! I agree with one of my friends, if they made more songs like that, (the melody and harmony was very good) they could probably produce a top-selling CD. And the CD would also be good for fundraising and telling the viewers all about the Me to We program.

My random thought/statement of the day: I would seriously consider going to places of poverty to make schools and houses if I had the time, money and all my friends and family came too!

Guess what!? I lost my agenda! I can't believe it! Now, where am I going to write all my homework! The important dates! All my goals!? I feel really really grumpy right now! I always seem to lose important things! Now, I am going to hunt down my agenda until I find it. That is my newest goal! Ahhhhhhh! It just makes me so mad that I lost it! Grrrrrrrrrr.

Okay, onto more happy things. At least when I type out happy things, I tend to feel more happy... Today, the science fair was due, and I handed it in, so now, I don't have as much homework. But that doesn't mean that I can just slack off. I haven't been able to do any piano or Chinese work for the past few days. You know what? I just wish that there was a sudden break for a week. Then, I would be worry free and just get more sleep and do the stuff I love. Like reading story books and stuff. Not textbooks and novel study books that I have to read. I just want to sleep early and wake up late. Read books, watch movies, slack off and just take a break. I have been working non-stop for the past 2 weeks. During the weekends, I couldn't even go shopping. I have been working without recharging. I feel like a car that is running on empty! Ahhhhhhhh! There are just so many projects going on at the moment. I have a major unit math test on Friday and stacks of homework due on Thursday. And this week, I have to recite this long story for Chinese school! It's like a nightmare that doesn't end until the summer!

Tomorrow, the science fair is due, so I really have to finish pasting the papers onto my display board. Last night, I typed out everything, and printed it all out, but I still have to draw 2 graphs. I just hope that I can sleep earlier tonight. I am planning to finish all my computer work at 6pm, so that I can draw my graphs and stick construction paper onto my actual papers. Then, I will have dinner, followed by other school homework and hopefully, at 9pm, I can start to paste everything onto my board. That might take a while, (because I will probably be adding the final touches to everything then). Since today is the last day for the science fair work, I will probably be able to find more time tomorrow for Chinese homework and piano. I didn't do much other homework over the weekend due to the science fair, so I am slightly behind schedule.

For some reason, my hands and feet feel really really cold. Blah! I haven't had lunch yet, and it is already 1:30pm! At school, lunch is at 11:30 am, 2 hours ahead, so maybe that is why I am so hungry. I'm still not 100% done my science fair, but I will probably do more tonight. For now, I am going to work on all the other homework assigned. I have 2 French skits to practice, and a math test that is coming up, so I really have to step on the gas pedal to keep up. Right now, I'm in one of those moods where I don't know what to do. I mean, I need to finish my science fair stuff, and all that other work but I also feel like sleeping, even though I don't... I know, it's confusing. Maybe I should just work on the computer until my hands "defrost" and lunch is ready. You know what something really funny is? For the last 2 weeks, I have seen the bood Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows in the public library. But I didn't take it out because I wasn't done reading all the others. But yesterday, when I went, the books weren't there! Isn't that so ironic!? The books are never there when I need them. And when I don't need them, they are there!

Blog Term2 Day78

Oh great, I didn't follow the schedule I make yesterday... I am supposed to be typing out my science fair stuff, but right now (evidently) I am doing my blog. So I guess I will just have to switch the order a bit. Okay, this is the revised order: 5:30-6pm, I will do my blog and post on the forum. Then, from 6-6:30, its dinner time. Then, from 6:30-9pm (2 and a half hours), I will type out all my science fair stuff. For typing, I still have to do my abstract, procedure, discussion and conclusion. So that would take a while. After typing, which would be at around 9, I will start to paste everything onto the board. It would take a whole lot of measuring (I am also using construction paper). So that might take a really long time. Some people might say that it takes them a really short time, but for me, everything takes ages. So I am giving that about 2 hours.

My random thought/statement of the day: I just hope that I can finish all my science fair stuff tonight, so that would leave tomorrow for the other work.

Oh great, I really have to study for my Chinese dictation tonight, but I really have to get going on my science fair. I also have to practice piano! This is bad because now, I have to dedicate my time to Chinese and piano and I can't work on my science fair stuff. Okay, here is my schedule. Today, I will not be able to do anything, so I can scratch that out... But tomorrow, after Chinese school and piano (at around 3pm) I will start on my science fair. So from 3-6pm, I will type everything that I need. That includes the title, headings, abstract and anything else like that. I have given myself 3 hours because not only is my computer a little slow, but it takes me time to type out the stuff like procedures... Then, from 6-6:30pm, I will have dinner. Followed closely by blogging and posting on the forum, (all the other computer stuff). Then when I am done posting, from 6:30-8pm, I will start on pasting the papers onto my board. That is most likely to take up the rest of the evening. Next day, I will probably wake up early and paste any other papers. And if I need other supplies, I will go to Staples or something and get them. Then, after lunch, I will paste the rest of the things onto the board. By then, I should probably be done. Then, I would be finished with my science fair. I think... For the rest of the day, I would have to catch-up with the rest of my homework.

Blog Term2 Day76

Well, it's official, I have a LOT to do in the next 4 days to complete the science fair. I still have to finish typing everything, and it is proving longer than I thought. In the beginning, I thought it would only take one night, but last night, I worked for about an hour and a half with no distractions, but I only managed to finish about half. So my main goal for tonight is typing the rest of the stuff for my science fair, and measuring the papers. I also really need to get going on my socials notes. We are currently doing 2 projects in socials. The first one is on a religion. My group is doing it on the Shinto culture. Then, I also have to draw part of a castle. I also have quite a bit of other homework to do.

I really really really wanted to go to the one-act plays, but my friend went to one last night and said that it went on from 7-10pm. And I would have loved to go, but I just have no time to spare whatsoever. She also said that the one-act plays were really funny. There are even some people I know in the play, so it is a pity I can't go. I would have loved to go tomorrow, but I have to practice piano and study for my Chinese dictation. It just really bugs me when I cannot do fun stuff because of homework. Sometimes, I wish that I could just not care about homework. But unfortunately, if I didn't complete my homework (no matter how last minute it is), I go crazy and I just can't stand a bad mark. And anything below a mid-B is a fail to me. So in other words, I just failed an English project. I got 65%. That is a fail just like that... I need better time management skills...

My random thought/statement of the day: I have finished 3/4 of my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book. And it is so good!

We had a chapter test today, and I think I did reasonably well. But I am sure that I got one of the answers wrong! I am really disappointed in myself because the answer was so obvious! That is the worst part. I also have to type all my science fair stuff today. After typing the science fair part for my display board, I am going to work on my abstract, which is also for my science fair. And after that, I will probably practice piano. And after piano, I will do my math and French homework. Followed closely by Chinese work, and after Chinese, I will do my science homework. Then, if I am still awake and not half-sleeping, I will take some notes on my socials project.

So, I missed the fourth Harry Potter book in the series because I couldn't find it in the public library or the school library. But guess what? I found it in the school library a while ago. I wanted to read it right after I got it, but then I had loads of work to do. So I couldn't. I still have lots of work to do, but I really have to do more book tests. The last day to do a book tests is coming up really soon, so I really have to push myself to find time to do the work. I am also WAY behind on my Science Fair. I have just a week to complete everything, and I still haven't typed much yet. Let alone past anything on the board. I was supposed to be done all this last week, but I was just so busy with all the other stuff, I didn't find time to do the stuff. I really have to work hard on this though. Apparently, it is worth a lot of my term 2 science mark. Right after this, I am going to work on my typing. Hopefully by the end of tonight, I will be done all the prep for typing. This will probably be the day I measure and finalize all my trials. And write out the good copy of my procedures. I am determined to do all the writing and stuff like that before the typing. Tomorrow, I will do all the typing and write out all the headings. Then, on Thursday I will paste everything onto the board. And Friday will be for back-up pasting time. Then, it will be the weekend. That will be the time I do my most final touch-ups and time for me to practice my speech. I just hope that I can stick to my schedule.

My random thought/statement of the day: I am working really hard to stop being so last-minute, but it is really hard!

Blog Term2 Day73

Wow, what a day! I have had such a busy day, I feel like I am about to fall asleep! Last night, I slept at 2:30 am. I know! So late, but I really had to finish my work! Now, there is another fresh pile of homework awaiting me. I have finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for my book test. And it is as good as ever! Now, I have to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and I would have finished the whole series! I hate reading the last book knowing it is the last book in the series, because that means there would be no more new books to read! I don't know why, maybe it is just some sort of nagging feeling in me. Sometimes, I wish that a series could go on forever. But it takes a lot of effort to write a book, so the series wouldn't go on forever but it would be cool!

My random thought/statement of the day: I think I will take a short nap after doing this.

Blog Term2 Day72

I am in big trouble now, I have so much homework today, I doubt I will get even 5 hours of sleep tonight! Last night, I was trying to do a science experiment, but, I didn't do it right, so I have to redo it. And now, having apparently wasted last night, I have a mound of homework to do not bigger than Mount Everest. I also have a long and hard Chinese dictation, and I really must practice more piano. This is really bad, and I wish that teachers would stop giving so much homework! If this is grade 8, I am scared to think of grade 9, and 10 etc. I also signed up for a book test as the time to do so is running out. And I decided on a really thick book that was rated M, which I need, because I have read enough EE and E books. Still, this book is really long. The literature is not difficult though, as I read it in grade 5. The book is none other than Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I chose this book because I really like the Harry Potter series, so at least I am enjoying myself but seeing that I only have the rest of the day to finish it before the book test on Monday, I must pick up the pace. There is enough homework from school this weekend to satisfy my summer from boredom, and I only have about 12 hours to complete it, so I must bid you farewell. Well, that is until my next blog, which is hopefully more optimistic and enthusiastic than this one.

My random thought/statement of the day: I don't understand why some people don't like Brussels sprouts, they are actually pretty good.
