Yeeees! I am finally done my piano exam, so I am extremely relaxed and content. However, the exam itself went far from perfect. Here's what happened: I did pretty well on my technical requirements and songs, but I totally bombed my sight reading, play back and clapping, so it's a possibility that I just passed... or even worse... failed. Okay, I know I'm being a little dramatic, but you should have heard my sight reading! The examiner had to stop me halfway because it was just so bad! But I'm trying not to worry about it because it's done and over! Okay, so I am still reliving the terrible moment, but it's okay because after a couple of days, I'll be fine!

Anyways, enough about my boring piano exam. After my exam, which took place yesterday, my grandpa, mom, brother and I went to Chinatown. Then, after that we went for lunch which consisted of noodles, congee and more noodles. After lunch, we went to this amazingly cool garden store, where my grandpa and mom bought some soil and grass seeds for the lawn and my brother and I looked at Venus Flytraps. And guess what? We got a Venus Flytrap! Aren't we just so lucky? I'm really happy because my brother and I have the responsibility of looking after it. We're hoping that we raise it really nicely and maybe our parents might agree to getting us a pet. Both my parents have had pets when they were young, but for some reason, my brother and I don't get pets. A little on the mean side, don't you think? But I guess they do have their reasons for not letting us get pets. Well, we were at the garden shop for a really long time, but my brother and I both got something we are now really excited about - a "pet".

Today, my family and I went to Krause Berry Farms to pick blueberries. It was just so awesome, and in the end, we picked about 13.4 kgs! Is that crazy or what? Krause Berry Farms is in Langley, and we had to drive for about an hour to get there, but I think it was totally worth it. It was really great, because we got to buy a lot of produce too. There were all sorts of veggies, and in the end we got some corn, green beans, zucchinis, potatoes, jams, a bar of honey soap, some pies and we also took some of their famous blueberry shortcakes home. I also loved their milkshakes. There is also this little patio area where you can buy some of their foods and eat it here. We had 1 strawberry milkshake, 2 blueberry milkshakes, 1 slice of their corn pizza, and 1 blueberry shortcake. In the end, the whole family had loads of fun. We really like that farm because they have amazingly sweet fruits, and they are pretty well known for their yummy fruit pies!

My random thought/statement of the day: I love their shortcakes!

Okay, I'm beginning to slightly freak out over my piano exam. My brother's exam is tomorrow and mine is the day after, so as you can guess, I'm starting to worry. The weird part is, my brother seems totally relaxed and isn't even stressing out over it... Hmmmm, something odd with the picture? I'm not full out freaking out yet, so don't worry. I mean, I am nervous, but compared to most other times, pretty relaxed.

Anyways, about today. I woke up at 8am today so that I could go practice piano before my brother and my 10:45am piano lesson. After practicing, we had a quick breakfast and then headed off to our piano lesson. Since our exam was really close, we had a practice-exam. And to tell you the truth, I think I did fairly well. Since piano exams are out of 100, but 60 is a pass, it makes things a little more challenging. In school, you only need to get a 50 to pass, but I guess piano exams are different. As I was saying, after the piano lesson, my mom, brother and I went Downtown to the Cactus Club Cafe for lunch. There, my mom and I had the salmon burger with ceasar salad and my brother had the salmon burger with fries. I guess you can say we love the salmon burger there! But then again, their salmon burger is the best! I love how the salmon practically melts in your mouth, and it's just so flavourful and yummy. Not only that, but the tartar sauce is really great and the whole burger is just amazing. Their ceasar salad is one of the best too! The dressing is light, yet all the flavours come through. And everything is crispy and fresh. And as usual, I had iced tea with my meal and my brother had Sprite. Yum! Finally, for dessert, we had their awesome chocolate lava cake. At first, I thought that it would be too sweet, but with the vanilla ice cream, and raspberry sauce, the flavours were just right! After that yummy lunch, we went to Superstore to get some groceries and then came back home.

My random thought/statement of the day: Darn, I feel sleepy already!

Okay, so today was totally awesome. Sure, there have been other awesome days, but this tops most of my summer days (except going to Sunshine Coast!). Today, my family and I went Downtown! To tell you the truth, I hate Downtown, but I think subconsciously, I love it. The part I hate about it would be all the homeless people, the druggies, the poor people asking for money, the dirtiness... I could go on forever just explaining the problems with our Downtown. But I'm not gonna, because that would be just weird. And probably slightly boring. But at the same time, I love the excitement, the shops, the malls, the people. It's what makes Vancouver what Vancouver is. Well, today after attending my brother and my dentist appointment, we went Downtown. The main reason we went down there would be because my mom had to run an errand for her friend. (We don't usually go Downtown.) So after running that quick errand, we started to decide on where we should eat lunch. In the end, my dad recommended we go to this student-operated restaurant. I'm not too sure how to describe it, but here goes. It's a culinary school that opens from 11:30pm-2:00pm for lunch (I don't know about dinner...) and chefs and waiters in training serve us. So in other words, it's a win-win program. Because those students get to practice and learn to cook for guests in a real kitchen in real circumstances. And the guests (us) get to eat high-quality foods and rate them, and in a way, also support their education. This culinary school is a part of Pacific Centre Mall Downtown, so not only do we get to eat delicious food, but after eating, we were able to go shopping. I purchased a cardigan from Hollister, and since there is no other Hollister location around where I usually shop, I was quite happy to shop there.

At the restaurant, I ordered an amazing warm salmon salad nicotice for my entree. This entree was absolutely delicious! There was a nice little spinach, tomato, potato, green bean and olive salad, (with the best exotic dressing and sitting on top of all that, was tender, juicy and flaky salmon fillet. For dessert, a vanilla-custard concoction sitting on a bead of cubed apples, pineapples and cantaloupes. (Sorry, the name of my yummy dessert escapes me.) And for a drink, I had iced tea. My parents, brother and I all had different drinks, entrees and dessert, so I got to try a lot of different dishes. I thought the service, food and presentation was just lovely, and if I had the chance, I would definitely go there again.

My random thought/statement of the day: I love food! Hahahaha. (And soft, cottony cardigans!)

Gosh, another rainy day. I made plans with my friends to go watch a movie today, but since it's so rainy, we cancelled. I mean, it's just not as fun. Rain really downs my vibe. I've noticed that if it's sunny, I feel really sunny and happy too, but right now, I'm really dull. Not to mention my brother is supposed to be playing piano, but he keeps on stopping. Urg! Sometimes, I really detest these kind of days. You know, the ones where there is nothing to do, yet so much to do? I know, I should probably start to study my theory, but I just don't wanna. I'm probably gonna take a really long nap after this blog. Last night, I slept at 1am. Mainly it's because my mom had 2 of her friends over and we had her famous wontons. Actually, I really like my mom's friends. They are always nice, friendly and funny. But it's not like they left extremely late. They left at about 10pm, and I guess I just kept keeping myself occupied until 1am. Then, I was really tired. We were gonna sleep at 12:30am, but my brother turned on the T.V, and we watched Mythbusters until I was half asleep. Cool huh? I really like watching Mythbusters. They are always so funny and interesting. Totally awesome show.

My random thought/statement of the day: This morning, we got to try out this new dim sum place, and the food there was pretty good! Really nice decor too!

Blog Summer21

What a rainy day! After such hot weather, there was finally the nice, perfectly hot and cold weather and finally, the stage we are at right now. Rainy, cold days. I must say, these rainy days are much more comfortable than the smoking hot ones. At least we don't have to keep the fan on 24/7. Although today is Monday, both my parents took the day off, so after I woke up at around 10am, we went to the bank and then set out for lunch. In the end, we went to this new place for dim sum. The food there was pretty good, unfortunately, I'm not that into dim sum, so I can't say I was totally excited. I don't hate dim sum or anything, but I only eat 3/10 dishes that arrive, so then my parents usually order a fried rice or noodle dish afterwards so I don't walk away hungry. But then again, I wouldn't have been hungry that time because I had a large slice of toast and half a cup of chocolate milk before we left. Yummm, it's not that I don't like normal white milk or anything, but we usually get 1% skimmed milk which practically has no flavour, so my brother and I like to mix it up with some 2% chocolate milk to make it taste a lot better.

So after we were done eating our lunch, we went to Granville Island upon my mom's request. Although I kinda like Granville Island, for some reason, I don't find it that great. Sure, it's really fun but I prefer to go there as a field trip with my friends. I'm not sure why, but that's just the way I like it. And to tell you the truth, I have been to Granville Island as a field trip at least 4 times in my life, so I'm not complaining. The first time would have been in grade 4. Then, I went in grade 6, 7 and 8. Pretty intense right? So I guess Granville Island is a pretty popular field trip place, or I was just lucky enough to go all those times. Actually, 2/4 times we went there, we went to see a play. The other ones were for a treasure hunt and a performance.

My random thought/statement of the day: I realized that when it's a rainy day, I feel like sleeping. Hmmm, maybe after blogging this, I'll go and take a nap in my room.

Blog Summer20

I am so happy right now! I just realized that today has been an awesome day. In just a few minutes, my brother and I will be heading out to go bike riding with a few of my friends. I haven't hung out with my friends for a while, and I really miss them, so I am super duper excited! We are going out at 8pm and hopefully coming back by 9pm. So in other words, we are going to spend a good hour exercising! I am really happy about that because I love exercising during the summer, it's fun, the weather is really nice and it's good to do it with friends. But before all this is going to happen, I'm going to go back to the past and talk about what I did this afternoon. After eating a yummy lunch consisting of homemade noodles in soup with wontons, my mom, brother and I went to Richmond Centre. But before that, we went to Staples. At Staples, I bought some back to school stuff. I know, crazy right? We still have a month of summer, but back to school stuff is already out in stores. (It actually makes me kinda mad... it's like they want to remind us that our fun time of summer is almost up.) Anyways, after getting 4 binders, we went to Richmond Centre. There, I went to American Eagle and got a nice pair of gray Bermudas. My brother on the other hand went to West 49 and got 2 graphic tees and a 2010 Olympic hoody from the Bay.

My random thought/statement of the day: Actually, in my opinion, this blog is pretty random.

Blog Summer19

So you're probably thinking... is it just me, or did she miss a day blogging. Well, that's right. Yesterday was my last day at Sunshine Coast and unfortunately, I was so busy, I couldn't blog. From the moment I got up, I was busy until the moment I went to sleep. (Which by the way, wasn't a good sleep because my 2 mosquito bites were driving me crazy!) So lets start from the beginning! Yesterday, when I woke up, my parents and grandpa were already long awake. I was the last one to sleep that night, so I would have thought I would have woken up the latest. But for some reason, my brother was sound asleep, beside me. By the time I was finally out of bed, he was still sleeping, and he looked so peaceful, so I just let him doze off. (Don't worry, Tuffy was looking out for him.) For breakfast, mom had cooked up some more noodles, so we each had some noodles with last night's dinner. We were to return the key to the house by 11am, and by the time I finished eating, it was just about 9am. My brother woke up a little after that.

Anyways, by the time we had finished packing up and cleaning the house, and double checking that everything was in the car, we went out to the beach one last time. It was just so pretty! I noticed that during the morning, it's low tide, but in the evening, around sunset, it's high tide! I also noticed that on the beach, there were loads of little baby crabs. And when I mean a lot, I mean A LOT. Come to think of it, it's actually kinda gross... So as I was saying, we went down to the beach one more time where my mom took a couple more pictures and my brother and I gathered a few more pretty sea shells and then we went back to the cottage. There, my brother and I played our last few games of Happy Suit Case (a card game) and everyone else just relaxed on the soft sofas. Finally, when it was around 11am, we went to the cottage owner and returned the key to him.

I still really miss the Garden Cottage, but at least we were lucky enough to spend 4 days and 3 nights there! So when we left Roberts Creek (the location of the Garden Cottage), we went to Sechelt where we walked around the beach and then went into town for the last time. There, we had lunch at a beautiful Greek restaurant called Daphne. I thought the lunch at Daphne's was really great. The service was amazing, our server, was really kind, smiled a lot and just gave off a really happy vibe. I also liked the design of the inside of the restaurant. It looked really Greek, and there was a spectacular mural on the wall about who Daphne was, and why the restaurant was name after her. The story was actually really interesting too! (I love Greek myths!) I had the souvlaki wrap with chicken and mixed greens, my brother had an 8 oz cheese burger with fries, my mom had the mushroom caps with toast, my dad had the Caesar salad and my grandpa had the special of the day which was a turkey breast sandwich with the soup special. Another reason I loved Daphne's so much was the kitchen. It was an open kitchen, and you could see them preparing the food. Very cool. I saw them grill up my brother's burger.

After looking around at Sechelt, we drove over to Gibsons where the ferry terminal was. I can't truly describe the ride there because both my brother and I went fast asleep. But once we woke up, we both got gelatos and ate them as we walked around Gibsons. My brother got cookies 'n cream and chocolate mint in a cup and I got strawberry and cookies 'n cream in a waffle cone. Personally, I love gelatos and ice cream, so I enjoyed this a lot. So after a while, we checked into the ferry terminal and after about 30 minutes, we were able to board the ferry.

When we finally got back home, it was about 5pm. After putting all the clothes into the laundry basket and putting everything else back to it's original spot, it was approximately 6pm. Since the last time we ate something was around lunch time, we were getting pretty hungry and tired. Mom didn't really want to cook, so instead, we went out for dinner. We went to a nice Chinese restaurant we are very familiar with, and the food there practically tastes like home food, so it was all good. After 4 days of eating other foods, it felt good to eat at a familiar place with familiar food. I'm not saying that I didn't like the food we ate over the trip, because I loved that food, but it's always good when you eat something you know you love. When we got back home, I felt so stuffed, I couldn't eat anything else. So after reading for a while, I took a bath and then went on to practicing piano.

My random thought/statement of the day: I can't believe that it's back to school in less than a month!
