Blog Term2 Day40

Today is the last day of 2008! Whew! This is actually quite interesting. I love to count down to midnight whenever this happens. The funny thing is, usually there are relatives over or (last New Year's Eve) we were in Hong Kong. It was really cool, because the hotel we were staying in had this huge midnight buffet, but we didn't participate in it, even though it was free and there was lots of food. Actually, we would have, but we had a huge dinner with relatives so we didn't. I was thinking of sneaking down in my PJs' and getting something, but by the time I showered and got ready for bed, I was really really tired. I just love Hong Kong so much. Even when you are shopping, the feel of it is totally different. I also love the malls in Hong Kong, they are so cool and funky and (well, lets just put it this way) I LOVE HONG KONG! I also got a lot of headbands there! But the thing that is really interesting about it, is that at Hong Kong, there were so many things to do and so little time, so once we woke up (around 8am) we wouldn't stop till we got back to the hotel at around (12am). But then we would have to shower and wash up, so it would be around (1am) before we got to bed. But at least I was so tired I feel right to sleep. I wanted to write a journal everyday before bed. And I did! Except a couple nights when I was to tired to, but the next day, I would write more. I usually did it when we got back and I was waiting for a turn in the shower.

I don't know about you... but I love hotels! They are the best! And the hotel I went to was connected to a mall, so you could go down to the lobby and up a flight of stairs, and you would be at this mall. So usually, my mom, brother and me would go to the supermarket in the morning, and buy a whole bunch of fresh stuff. There were also a whole bunch of restaurants including a Japanese one! Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong are super duper expensive. But we ate there once. It was good, but not nearly as fresh as it is here, in Vancouver. I have lots to write, but I will not write all of it because that would be 2 weeks of writing! Hahahahaha!

My random thought/statement of the day: I love Hong Kong soooooooooooo much!

Blog Term2 Day39

I just love winter break so much! And I can't believe in about 5 nights, we have to go back to school! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I just love relaxing, watching movies, reading, shopping and emailing my friends so much! But I guess we have to go to school eventually... The only part I don't like is the fact that I have lots of homework to do... Chinese and school stuff. But I am planning to do lots today. In fact, I don't think I will leave this house much. Well, that is my goal, so that I complete more homework in a shorter amount of time. I am going to type out my English, finish my notes for AppSkills, and study for my Mandarin and Cantonese exam lots!

My random thought/statement of the day: I get to have sushi for lunch! Yay!

Blog Term2 Day38

My cousin makes the best pastries on earth! She once took a baking course in France, so she is very very very good! She makes a whole bunch of yummy pastries and since she is here this winter break, she made us lots of really yummy cakes, cookies and other pastries. I was snacking on some almond crackers she made just as second ago. She also made us chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake and a coffee cake. My favourite pastry she makes is this shell-shaped tea biscuit called Madeline. I'm not sure if I spelt it right, because the actual name is in French. But they are just so good!

My random thought/statement of the day: This winter break has been fun, boring and tiring all rolled up in one so far. :)

Blog Term2 Day37

YAY! Even though I missed Boxing Day, apparently, I didn't miss the Boxing Day SALE. But I did miss one thing... the crowds! YAY ME! Of course there were crowds, but not as many people came as the day before. We went shopping yesterday and the mall was really crowded, but compared to what I saw on the news before, it was like nothing. I didn't end up getting very much though. Just a bag. But that sure was better than not getting anything! I also went to some of my favourite clothing places but there was nothing good. Even if some of the items were $10 and less. I can't believe Boxing Day only comes once a year! Now that is what I call unfortunate! But usually, there are sidewalk sales at different malls, so you can still get good deals.

Enough about shopping though, I still have lots of work to complete. So probably for the rest of the week (hopefully after today) I will be staying home to complete it all. Even though I have complete lots, I have a whole lot more to do. Including practicing a speech for my Applied Skills Powerpoint. To tell you the truth, I don't want to go shopping today. I feel like I should be working more, even if it is break.

My random thought/statement of the day: My cousin baked this really yummy Black Forest cake, and even though I don't like chocolate, I've gotta admit, it tasted really really good!

Blog Term2 Day36

Okay... so I didn't get to go shopping because of the snow... but I think we might be able to go today! I completed lots of homework yesterday, so at least I know that I'm not too behind. But it was agony to watch the news and every few minutes or so, the news reporters would say something about boxing day. The news also showed people lining up for hours just to buy something. So in other words, I spent yesterday doing homework when a whole bunch of people got first dibs on everything! How terribly sad! :( Some of my favourite stories had up to 70% off! But I highly doubt there would be much of anything left after boxing day. Even though my shopping experience was terrible so far, at least (and I am proud to say) I finished some of my homework. But even though I completed lots, I still have lots to go. I still need to study my Chinese, finish off my Power Point, and type out a couple things but it should be fine. I still have another week. I just wish that we could have more time! That would make life so much better! I also wish that Friday was a weekend day. So we only have to go to school for 4 days a week instead of 5. Now that would be the life! :) But then again, I don't think the school board people would allow that, so there is no use in dreaming.

My random thought/statement of the day: Did you get to go Boxing Day shopping?

Blog Term2 Day35

Okay, it's Boxing Day, and so far, it hasn't stopped snowing since I woke up this morning. I really really like snow, but it is kinda getting in the way for shopping... Even if it stopped snowing, there would still be lots of snow and ice on the roads, but with snow, well, it just makes it harder to drive anywhere. But enough about that, I have big plans for completing homework today. And I will do whatever I can to finish that homework. A week has passed, and it is almost back to school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, it's not back to school yet, but we are halfway there. What a tragedy!!!!

My random thought/statement of the day: I feel so sleepy even though I slept for 9 hours!

Blog Term2 Day34

YAY!!!!!!!!!! Christmas is here! Okay, to tell you the truth Christmas is totally awesome, but now, I am gonna have to say goodbye to everybody's "Christmas Spirit". I guess it's okay, but then I have to wait for another year! Christmas is my favourite time of the year! Hey, it's like that song: It's the most, wonderful time, of the year! But to tell you the truth, I just love Christmas! I like everything about Christmas! The snow, the carols, the Santas, the decorations at the malls, the Christmas trees. But I wish that I could go shopping tomorrow. I still don't really get the concept of Boxing Day, but it seems like a day where a lot of things are on sale. I just hope that we can go out tomorrow! I really would like to go to Metrotown! Even though I went just 2 days ago..... Actually, I wouldn't mind any mall, it's just that Metrotown is so LARGE! Metropolis at Metrotown has every single store I know! And the food court is so big, there are a lot of choices. There is Indian, Italian, Japanese, Thai, and a whole lot of other foods to be tried! Last time I went, I had a really yummy dish of butter chicken on rice with some Naan bread. It was really really really good! Anyways, enough about that, I just hope that you have a very Merry Christmas!

My random thought/statement of the day: For Christmas, I got my mom a candle, my brother a bar of chocolate, and I chipped in to get my dad a wheel cover for his car.
